Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem
The name of the affliction is "Foot in Mouth Disease", and we have ALL suffered the effects of this at one time or another. The "disease" is a pun on a real disease (also known as Anthrax!) which affects whole herds of cattle and is devastating to any farmer or herdsman who has seen it in action. James does a great job describing the devastation that the "Tongue" can cause in Chapter 3 of his amazing Letter to the Early Church.
Just yesterday, I was in line for something, when an old man cut into the line in a very sneaky fashion. The woman in front of me started to yell at the guy, and it escalated quickly into a screaming match which embarrassed and humiliated everyone. This is a foolish example, yes, but when true evil takes place, ranting and raving about it is useless. By doing good, standing against evil, and with total reliance on God for Self-Control(which is a fruit of the Holy Spirit!) we can make things happen for Good.
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
