Actually, it was said in a different language and much later after passing through still more languages was translated into English.

What was actually said can only be understood in the original language and only then if the reader understands the culture from which the language arose ... unfortunately, no one remembers that culture ...

all the conversations that pop up on social media regarding the clarity of Holy Writ would do well to remember this...and remember as well that no original texts have ever been accessed in order to establish provenance...
