Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

In the last twenty years or so, a curious thing has happened in the English Language when transliteration Arabic words that begin with the Letter "K". It seems that all the "K's" have disappeared, and have been replaced with "Q'"! And what is worse, there is no Letter "U" after the "Q", which is totally against the rules of English Grammar. ("Koran" has become "Q'uran" and so forth) I don't know about you, but I find it annoying. Why should we change the actual SPELLING in English, if that is what it sounds like to us? And don't get me started on Chinese equivalents and how they have changed. {/rant off}

Anyway, "Koph" or "Q'oph" is a Hebrew Letter that can be either a "K" or a "Q'".

Today's Letter is "Qopf" or "Kopf". It is the 19th Letter in The Hebrew Alphabet, and its Numerical Equivalent is 100, the Number of Perfection.

The Word "HOLY" (Kadosh) and all the Words derived from it concerning Consecration, (Kiddush, Kaddish, etc), begin with this Letter of Perfection.

The Pictograph Represent the Back of The Head.

It suggests putting Behind what is Past, Leaving Behind that which is not of God, and Consecrating Ourselves to Serving Him.

Gate, ladder, Temple, place of connection... I love all the visuals. Much to do with music too, how it lifts the soul - ladder = sulam = scale (music)

Lines as rungs up the ladder: “Every Good Boy Does Fine”

The distance between the lines: “FACE” :)

Letters make angels (messengers with messages i.e. words, songs, lyrics).

The last line on Yerushelayem Shel Zahav” (Ani Kinor) means “I am Your song or musical instrument)

But, it goes both ways. When Jeremiah wrote his anguished lamentations, he sang “I am the song of the drunkards”
