Senator Tim Kaine met with Pope Francis after attending a general audience with him on Wednesday.
Kaine and the Pope discussed the Holy See’s work to address the global refugee and migrant crisis, according to the senator’s office.
“As the Pope stated so clearly yesterday, it is a ‘moral imperative’ to protect and defend the ‘inalienable rights’ of refugees and respect their dignity, especially by adopting just laws that protect those fleeing dangerous or inhumane situations,” said Kaine in a statement.
Kaine also participated in a discussion focused on Latin American issues with Vatican officials and members of other religious orders and meet with the Jesuit Refugee Service to discuss its work with refugees and asylum seekers.
On Friday Kaine will deliver an address in London at the Royal Institute of International Affairs, known as Chatham House, titled “The Truman Doctrine at 70.”
He will discuss the historical significance of the Truman doctrine, new strategic challenges facing the United States, future of the transatlantic partnership, and the continued importance of America’s leadership role in a changing world, his office said.

Ann Barnhardt posted a short essay a couple of days ago and titled it: “Need Help With A Spanish Translation…”. The phrase she sought a translation of was: “Trafficking Bolivian-Indian child sex slaves”. Just in case you’re not familiar with who Ann is or her writing style, she’s definitely more than intelligent enough to find the translation online without needing any help from her readers, and this particular essay is dripping with not so subtle innuendo and sarcasm she often uses in the fearless and witty writing style she is known for.

If you haven’t had the pleasure of reading her work or watching some of her videos, you’re most likely in for a real treat! Some people find her too extreme, many Muslims want her dead, and then others, such as myself, see her as an obedient, valiant, warrior of The Lord, who fearlessly and humbly speaks His Truth in arenas where even most men will cower. She’s absolutely beautiful and single to boot! If I wasn’t such an (insert adjective here) kind of guy, who will forever remain faithfully committed to the love of my life, even though she no longer has any interest in me, I’d be courting Ann and marry her in a heartbeat, if she’d have me. Nope! No bias here! If you already ARE familiar with Ann’s writings, forgive my little review.
