To me that comment suggests that such behavior was unusual from Him. Something was different this time, that being His Father’s house teaching.

“Then he went down to Nazareth with them and was obedient to them. But his mother treasured all these things in her heart.” Luke 2:51

Two things strike me in this verse. The first is that He was an obedient son, thus keeping the commandment. I do not believe He was disobedient even in staying back at the temple, but aware of His mission in ways that they were not.

The second is that these events are coming from Mary’s memory. Only she, as His mother, could tell these details of His life to Luke with her motivation and love in recalling them.

“What is the point of coming on a caucus thread if no one pays attention to its status? It seems to me the person who posts the thread should keep on top of it to the best of their ability. I’m seeing the usual familiar members of the no-amen corner showing up.”

Well you know what? If they don’t honor ours, why should we honor theirs?

Book mark this and others has an example. They think the rules only apply to us and not them.

Well, they are obviously Democrats to our Republicans. I would never violate (knowingly) their caucus and neither would other members of this caucus. They have no manners and their religiosity is pretty suspect.

This thread doesn’t SEEM like a Catholic caucus by looking at some of the responses. Is it truly one?

Yes it is, but Catholics enjoy some of the baseless arguments against the true church.....kind of entertaining!!

Well, not really. Ground zero of Catholics versus Protestants. All orthodox (Eastern and Western) did not even question Mary’s perpetual virginity until the third or fourth generations after the Reformation (meaning Luther did not even contemplate this). Without context, translations can be misleading. Thus, Catholics and Orthodox to this day rely on interpretations based in the great Traditions of our ancestors. Just one example, St Jerome was crystal clear that these were not Mary’s children. Do you really think no one understood this passage for 1700 years until a translation was published? Anyway, food for thought. God bless.

Sorry, just saw this, but see post 106. It’s not really a close call - these were not Mary’s children. You can’t possibly believe Jerome got this wrong (along with thousands of others from the first centuries after Our Lord.).
