Litany of Intercession for Pope Francis [Prayer]

Benedictines, from time immemorial, have been marked by a profound piety toward the Apostolic See of Rome and the successor of St Peter. The original form of this litany was composed by Dom Benedict Maria Andersen for the time leading up to the papal conclave of 2013. It includes invocations of the blessed Apostles Peter & Paul (founders of the Church of Rome), as well as invocations of all canonised or beatified Popes. Father Benedict has adapted it into a litany of intercession for His Holiness, Pope Francis, and encourages all Catholics to pray it for the Holy Father in this critical time for the Church Catholic.

Almighty and everlasting God, have mercy upon Thy servant, FRANCIS, our Supreme Pontiff, & direct him, according to Thy loving-kindness, in the way of eternal salvation; that, of Thy gift, he may ever desire that which is pleasing unto thee & may accomplish it with all his might.
