I read the whole trilogy in one binge weekend, while I was a student at Moody many decades ago. Great experience. Most memorable moment was losing Gandalf to the Balrog. It was like, wow, how do they move forward without him? It really hit me hard. That’s when you know you’re reading a great story, when you lose yourself to the alternate reality and experience it in a deep way. I’ll never be a Tolkien, but that’s what I strive for in my own writing.

Peace,

SR

I have a hard time sitting still to watch a movie or about any television show. Most are junk IMHO. But I can and have watched the LOTR series many times. It is one of the few that I feel drawn to.

It is what I strive to be in my writing as well. (One has to aim high.)
