"Nuance"? Have they learned anything from the sex scandals? How many alter boys have to be raped by gay priests before they figure out putting gay men with boys might be a problem?

Seems like it should only three words: “No homosexual priests!”
This article was published in the Jesuit magazine “America”. Sad to say today’s Jesuits are not your father’s Jesuits. If a ban on homosexual priests were enforced, the order would likely disband.
Repentant and committed to celebacy, maybe. But after that point, not sure that ‘gay’ can be applied. And even then, probably would want some proof and put in a position with no temptation.
I doubt that is what Pope Frank has in mind though.
The 1962 Vatican canon law statement on this issue was clear enough.
“A person who supports the ‘gay culture,’ understood as an environment and a movement that advocates moral stances at variance with Church teaching, cannot at the same time be entrusted with teaching and leading the community of faith.”
That disqualifies Cardinal Wuerl, Cardinal Cupich, Cardinal McCarrick, Cardinal Dolan, Cardinal O’Malley, etc., etc., etc., from the priesthood. And the many other bishops who allow “Dignity Masses” and gay parishes.
They will do everything they can to spin and manipulate everything, including words.
