Say, what’s a discussion without disagreement? If it’s foreordained that disagreement won’t be allowed, how is that a discussion? If everyone who is allowed into the discussion already knows that all allowed participants agree on everything, why bother calling it a discussion? It sounds like a monotone chorus.
This websites Religious Forums Rules clearly states “Caucus threads are closed to any poster who is not currently and actively a member of the caucus group.” If you have a problem with that, see Jim Robinson or go to another website. The poster of the thread has a right to label it Caucus Only and exclude troublemakers. Your #7 posting got deleted by the RM for a reason. It’s up to you to reason out why.
Well thanks for pointing out that are subsets or subsets of groups and for the link to guidelines for the general religion forum and its subsets. I didn’t realize there varying rules and guidelines. Now I know.
I meant no disrespect to anyone or any thread. I don’t know what was in what you termed my #7 comment, since you explain that RM erased it. I do remember it was in the form of a sincere question on which I needed guidance.
I know that I get Religion Forum posts, but I hadn’t known that there are subgroups with rules different from those of the whole. I asked a question because I was surprised that anyone was off the bat telling people of other religions that they cannot post. (I do completely qualify the religious test that was set by the poster).
I asked the question because I’d never seen a post on FR that had a religious qualification test in order to post. I in no way am trying to “cause trouble.” I’m sorry that I apparently offended the RM. I had no idea my question could elicit such a response.
I was looking for clarification from someone who understood why there was a religious test to speak to that post.
I have not yet even looked at the link in the posting.
I have seen some of this rabbi’s postings on other sites and understand that a subset would not agree with the views.
I appreciate now knowing now that there are different subsets of the religion forum and that the rules and guidelines are an attempt to avoid religious wars on FR.
