Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

The Book of Proverbs

(Ecclesiastes 10)

10 As dead flies give perfume a bad smell,
    so a little folly outweighs wisdom and honor.
2 The heart of the wise inclines to the right,
    but the heart of the fool to the left.
3 Even as fools walk along the road,
    they lack sense
    and show everyone how stupid they are.
4 If a ruler’s anger rises against you,
    do not leave your post;
    calmness can lay great offenses to rest.

5 There is an evil I have seen under the sun,
    the sort of error that arises from a ruler:
6 Fools are put in many high positions,
    while the rich occupy the low ones.
7 I have seen slaves on horseback,
    while princes go on foot like slaves.

8 Whoever digs a pit may fall into it;
    whoever breaks through a wall may be bitten by a snake.
9 Whoever quarries stones may be injured by them;
    whoever splits logs may be endangered by them.

10 If the ax is dull
    and its edge unsharpened,
more strength is needed,
    but skill will bring success.

11 If a snake bites before it is charmed,
    the charmer receives no fee.

12 Words from the mouth of the wise are gracious,
    but fools are consumed by their own lips.
13 At the beginning their words are folly;
    at the end they are wicked madness—
14     and fools multiply words.
No one knows what is coming—
    who can tell someone else what will happen after them?

15 The toil of fools wearies them;
    they do not know the way to town.

16 Woe to the land whose king was a servant[a]
    and whose princes feast in the morning.
17 Blessed is the land whose king is of noble birth
    and whose princes eat at a proper time—
    for strength and not for drunkenness.

18 Through laziness, the rafters sag;
    because of idle hands, the house leaks.

19 A feast is made for laughter,
    wine makes life merry,
    and money is the answer for everything.

20 Do not revile the king even in your thoughts,
    or curse the rich in your bedroom,
because a bird in the sky may carry your words,
    and a bird on the wing may report what you say.

Omnipotent,
Omniscient, and Omnipresent,
Teach us To Stand Firm,
And Always look To You For Our Sustenance.
Keep us from temptation,
And deliver us from evil.

We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According to Your Will and Promise.
We Pray For the People and Leaders of Israel,
that They Will Look to You for the Protection
and Prosperity of their Nation.
We Also Pray For Revival in our own Beloved USA.


We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Oh My! Where Do I Begin! There is a Debate tonight, and today's Chapter from Ecclesiastes seems to be tailor-made for the occasion.

10 As dead flies give perfume a bad smell,
so a little folly outweighs wisdom and honor.
2 The heart of the wise inclines to the right,
but the heart of the fool to the left.
3 Even as fools walk along the road,
they lack sense
and show everyone how stupid they are.
4 If a ruler’s anger rises against you,
do not leave your post;
calmness can lay great offenses to rest.

Since they did not have "Skittles" in Solomon's day, he gives us the analogy of a costly perfume, ruined by the presence of a dead fly. Even the smallest adulteration of Truth makes it an UNTRUTH, or, to put it more bluntly, a LIE. And, of course, the best way to combat a lie is to Stand Your ground, and with calm reassurance and confidence, State The Truth. (Of course, the line about the "Right" and the "Left" doesn't hurt, either.)

Next we have this:

5 There is an evil I have seen under the sun,
the sort of error that arises from a ruler:

while the rich occupy the low ones.
7 I have seen slaves on horseback,
while princes go on foot like slaves.

8 Whoever digs a pit may fall into it;
whoever breaks through a wall may be bitten by a snake.
9 Whoever quarries stones may be injured by them;
whoever splits logs may be endangered by them.

The best prayer to pray in the debate tonight is that Truth will be revealed, and that the wicked ones will fall into their own traps that they have made. Bob Marley has a song based upon this Chapter of Ecclesiastes called "Small Axe". The "hook line" goes like this:

"Whosoever diggeth the pit,
Shall fall in it!
Shall fall in it!
'Cuz if you are a BIG Tree,
We are a Small Axe."

Sometimes it is very discouraging when we look at the enormity of the power, corruption, and complacency of the left. They have been getting away with their lies for so long.

Now we have this:

12 Words from the mouth of the wise are gracious,

No one knows what is coming—
who can tell someone else what will happen after them?

I think all of us can say that we have been shamed and embarrassed by things we have said in our youth. Last, but certainly not least:

20 Do not revile the king even in your thoughts,
or curse the rich in your bedroom,
because a bird in the sky may carry your words,
and a bird on the wing may report what you say.

When I was a child, I couldn't get away with ANYTHING! Mom always seemed to know, and she would say "A Little Bird Told Me!". Well those Little Birds are still flying around, and their names are Assange and WIKIleaks.

11 Surely the serpent will bite without enchantment; and a babbler is no better.

12 The words of a wise man's mouth are gracious; but the lips of a fool will swallow up himself.

13 The beginning of the words of his mouth is foolishness: and the end of his talk is mischievous madness.

14 A fool also is full of words: a man cannot tell what shall be; and what shall be after him, who can tell him?

15 The labour of the foolish wearieth every one of them, because he knoweth not how to go to the city.

16 Woe to thee, O land, when thy king is a child, and thy princes eat in the morning!

17 Blessed art thou, O land, when thy king is the son of nobles, and thy princes eat in due season, for strength, and not for drunkenness!

18 By much slothfulness the building decayeth; and through idleness of the hands the house droppeth through.

19 A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh merry: but money answereth all things.

20 Curse not the king, no not in thy thought; and curse not the rich in thy bedchamber: for a bird of the air shall carry the voice, and that which hath wings shall tell the matter.
