Cardinal in prayer for peace in the cathedral: People are grateful world that Francis "exemplifies the Gospel", within the church, there are hostile - Call for "patience" for Vatican ruling on Medjugorje
Vienna (kath.net/KAP) Cardinal Christoph Schönborn has expressed shock at the resistance from Church circles against Pope Francis: "It hurts me that he faces so much hostility - within the Church. What is this? He is the successor of Peter! He's the pope!" said the Archbishop of Vienna on Tuesday in his homily during the Medjugorje prayer of peace, "Message for you" in the cathedral. Many people in the world are grateful for the witness of Pope Francis. "For his kindness and his love for the poor and the fallen. It is the gospel that he teaches us," said Schönborn. To learn that the Pope is receiving "so much resistance" from his own ranks, was completely incomprehensible to him. It is important to pray for the Pope.
Regarding the so far not carried out confirmation by the Vatican for the alleged [and heretical] Marian apparitions in Medjugorje, the Cardinal called on the faithful to be patient. You should "persevere and remain faithful in prayer and intercession," said Schönborn, and continued: "I think to myself, God knows why he is linked to Medjugorje, so patience requires of us thus our heart is willing.. " As one of the positive consequences of the events of Medjugorje, Schönborn described the emergence of numerous prayer groups around the world and also in Austria. It was particularly noteworthy that these groups since their inception in the 1980s - the Viennese Dominican Church was then a starting point - would largely continue to exist to this day, said the Archbishop of Vienna.
The Medjugorje prayer groups were the focus of this year's Peace Prayer again with around 4,000 believers who had come to St. Stephen's Cathedral. Currently I am tempted to link the dozens existing groups in Austria with each other more, explained Christian Stelzer of the prayer community "Oasis of Peace", who had organized the prayer for peace.
Hostility against a Pope who goes out of his way to tear down every teaching in the Bible. Gee, can’t imagine why.
What’s to wonder about?
Our faith does not depend upon whether or not the Blessed Mother appeared in any particular place (or not).
What is this? He is the successor of Peter! He’s the pope!”
****************
He may have the title, but he is a fake Pope.
He doesn’t even believe in Catholic teachings.
I genuinely feel sorry for Catholics.
Pope Francis is not doing what they would do if they were Pope. Tough nuggets, opponents are not God.
And the same could have been said about the Borgia and Medici popes. And this pope's type of corruption, the ideological and political, may prove so much more damaging, in the long term, than theirs.
This Pope is an Anti-Pope and many good Catholics recognize that fact. The church will survive this heretic.
Anti-Pope. Really? What dogma has he trounced.?
The Sixth Commandment
Much of the clergy has lost their way.
Correction: Pope Francis is contradicting his predecessors in the Chair of Peter. Amoris laetitia directly contradicts Familiaris consortio of John Paul II. Read #84 of FC and then read Ch 8 of AL. Especially read the footnotes in the latter.
This is the hermeneutic of rupture.
Stands to reason that a loon like Schönborn would be involved with the Medjugorje hoax.
I feel your pain, Cardinal.
I feel exactly the same way when the writings of JPII, Pius XII, Pius XI, Pius X et al., are disparaged and disregarded.
The sooner that those two and Madariaga and O'Malley and Cupich and Turkson and Marx and Kaspar and anything vaguely resembling them are gone the better for Holy Mother the Church. When the last European Catholic Church is burnt to the ground by the wave of Islamolunatics welcomed by Frankie and when the last European Catholic child has been crucified by these heathens, maybe you will admit what anti-Catholic poseurs these and their sycophants are.
May God send us a young, healthy, vigorous, thoroughly orthodox firebrand of God as a new pope ASAP to cleanse the Catholic stable of the detritus of such disgraces as these, to purge the ranks, to engage in mass excommunications, the restoration of the Holy Office, the suppression of orders of nuns and priests who, whatever their histories, have become enemies of the Faith. Let the Church be governed by those whose guideline is what would Pope St. Pius X do? (I am not an SSPX schismatic). Let his encyclical Pascendi Domenici Gregis and his Syllabus of Errors Lamentabile Sane be the absolutely applied and never questioned standards for the restoration of the Church.
There is nothing wrong with the aforementioned miscreants that could not be cured on Earth by burning each at the stake, after appropriate "inquiry."
Opponents are not God? Neither are those miscreants. They are each enemies of God.
Bzzzt. Wrong answer.
To add to the First Commandment trounced by his immediate predecessors post Vatican II.
So a Catholic pope who returns the Church to the pre-Vatican II Catholic Faith rather than the new Vatican II Modernist religion.
John XXIII, Paul VI, Archbishop Jadot, numerous other figures of that time, their gross negligence, and the vaunted "Spirit of Vatican II" (i.e.. the purposeful distortion of ambiguous documents) nearly drove me to the Russian Orthodox Church in America (an anticommunist Church with no connection to the Metropolitan of Moscow) but the failure of the Orthodox to accept that the pope has the keys given to Peter by Christ was the barrier that stopped me until John Paul I was elected. If you believe he was a Modernist, you don't know his history. Likewise, I do not accept the notion that Pope Saint John Paul II or Benedict XVI are or were Modernist heretics.
I believe that the teaching Magisterium of the Roman Catholic Church has not changed. The Truth is, was, and always will be the same. At various times in history, we have had truly rotten popes. Long before Vatican II, we had Alexander VI. We have had popes who murdered their predecessors. We have had popes who have bought the office. In this post-Vatican II moment, we are again burdened with an airhead pope who refuses to recognize his obligation to judge. In this, he rejects a direct teaching of Jesus Christ.
The pope I am hoping to see elected by the next conclave will be one who crushes the errors of Spineless Frankie.
So you believe that all of the post-Vatican II popes didn't really understand the true teachings of Vatican II and that they were all duped by its Modernist "ambiguities". For example, the Assisi's and various other inter-religious prayer with non-Catholics once and always condemned by the Catholic Church was just a mistaken understanding of VII's false ecumenism.
If the popes didn't know the true teaching of Vatican II, who did?
