JJ, your interpretation is so messed up that I don't know just where to start, but you might want to go back and find the year in 30-40 AD was an intercalary year, and the Judean Passover was a double Sabbath, a 'high holy day" as it is called now, IIRC.

The year of His crucifixion would be 33 Anno Domini, according to our current method of counting solar years. He was murdered on the Cross on the day of preparation, laid in the grave just before nightfall, laid there one full yom, and resurrected on the first day of the week. A year 30 crucifixion is utterly impossible from any standpoint, IMHO.

From here on, I think I'll just sit back and watch the others take your argument down point by point, and see what happens a couple of days from now.

What do you mean by a double Sabbath? I have not heard that term before.

The feast day itself is a sabbath (there are more sabbaths in the Jewish religion than the weekly sabbath); and when it does occur through the shifting of the feast day of the month happening to be coincident with the seventh-day sabbath, it is then a double sabbath; or, in Judaic terminology, a "high holy day."

Jesus and His disciples celebrated the Passover according to the then-Galilean custom, which was to hold it the evening before the Jewish/Judean Passover, which by the Law was on 14 Nisan. So in the year that Jesus was crucified, 14 Nisan was on the seventh day of the week, thus a "double sabbath."

(Anf further, since the evening was not of the Feast of the Unleavened according to the calendar, the bread for the Galilean could be, and was, conducted with leavened bread, artos; not unleavened adzumos.)

Thanks for the clarification. I knew about the high holy day but I have not heard the term “double sabbath”. Is this of your making or is it common usage at your church?

My church doesn’t define my theology. In this case, the coincidence is a double(d) Sabbath, and they both occur on the same day. One is a Fesitval Sabbath (day) and the other is the weekly seventh-day Sabbath. I don’t know how to make it clearer. And I don’t know how “church” enters into this.

The author of the OP clearly isn't a Catholic, achilles2000 says down below that he belongs to a church that teaches premillenarianism (so he isn't a Catholic), and I'm pretty sure Jeremiah Jr. isn't a Catholic.

So why are you picking on Catholics? Are we just the default punching bag for you guys? What kind of "Christian charity" would that be? "Love your neighbor as your scapegoat"?

Since the hour is late, its time to read up on what the One True God (long before other religions and gods came along) *actually* put in place.

No man who defecated in the Holy Land is going to reappear or give magic carpet rides to heaven before things get crappy, although may just be the greatest sales pitch in the history of the world.

Jewish tradition speaks of two redeemers, each one called Mashiach. Both are involved in ushering in the Messianic era. They are Mashiach ben David and Mashiach ben Yossef.

If you’re a “Gog & Magog” type, ya might want to pay particular attention to Mashiach ben Yossef, and if he is killed, who would do that?...

Christ never uttered one hint that gravity would be suspended. Christ never taught a fly away to save souls. Ezekiel 13:18-20 states emphatically what Jesus thought about a fly away doctrine. Exactly what method of transportation are the fly away doctrine is expecting to use? Christ is coming here on God’s green earth to begin the Lord’s day. Christ became our Temple.

I just didn’t understand the origination of the substitution of “double sabbath” for high holy days which is universally understood.

Without arguing, a double sabbath is where the High Holy comes from.

I Corinthians 15:51. Paul says Behold, I show you a ‘mystery’...... All will be changed... This flesh age comes to an end.

All will be changed...

I'm thinking gravity won't be that much of a challenge to believers.

Gravity is what holds flesh on earth. It would by necessity have to be suspended for a rapture balloon. Who, have those planning a rapture, contracted to fly them out of here? It is not going to happen....it is a security blanket of deception. And any Christian worth his/her salt knows exactly who the antiChrist literally is, and his calling card was his attempt to tempt Christ!!! Christ said that He had foretold us all things, and this was before any jot or tittle of the so called New Testament was ever placed on animal skins, plant fibers, or Paul's historic trip to Damascus.

And yet Christ said a sign of His coming would be Matthew 24:6, wars and rumors of wars, but not to be troubled, this was NOT the end. Puts a big hole in the rapture doctrine balloon. If one does not know who the antiChrist literally is they are already deceived.

Not at all...First of the 'signs' of his coming are for the 2nd Coming...And we certainly have wars and rumors of wars right now...That just shows it's close...

For the Rapture, it could come at any time...It doesn't require any signs...

But the wars and rumors of wars need be but are NOT what brings this flesh age to a close. It is the false cries of Peace, Peace, Peace, when there is no peace by a fake Jesus. Christ said Daniel's days had been shortened for the elect sake. This time period is compared to a woman in labor.. If one does not know who the antiChrist literally is now, they already have 666 sealed in their foreheads. Mass deception as prophesied by Christ Himself. I feel sorry for people whose God is not able to protect them from a tribulation.

Amazing! ... I would ask you these questions, to see if you can reason this out: Did Jesus walk on water, did the iron axehead float, did Jesus ascend into Heaven, did Philip disappear at the Eunuch’s side and appear over in the Gaza, did Jesus appear in a locked and shuttered room?

In the current where/when we sense, Gravity is consistent. In the where/when to which GOD will change us fit to dwell, perhaps Gravity will not be what it is in our spacetime.

If you are not in the body of Christ, you certainly will not be escaping the coming Wrath of Daniel's seventieth week. Good luck with that!

This I don’t understand. I am primarily picking on happy clappy Evangelicals, who are the primary people who hold these views. Catholicism doesn’t hold to the “Left Behind” eschatology, unless that is something else Francis has changed.
