There's been a lot taken down and a lot that needs to be put back together at Elkview Baptist Church.
"We have sustained damage primarily in our children's area. It was completely wiped out," said student Pastor Clint Chiles.
"The Lord's taken care of us, we're still plugging through and making due with what's been given to us," he said.
As Chiles shines some light on a basement that was once, over a month ago, plunged into the darkness of flood waters, he keeps his faith despite not being eligible for government assistance.

If you need contact info...let me know I can get it. I know just about every church up these hollers.
We should help them, not the illegal aliens and the Syrians who come here with hate for us.
Buying flood insurance is not a sin and only costs $500 a year
The states have never delegated to Congress, expressly via the Constitution, the specific power to appropriate taxes for relief purposes. Such federal funding is arguably state revenues that the corrupt feds stole by means of unconstitutional federal taxes, taxes which Congress cannot justify under its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers.
In other words, the only reason that the Elkview Baptist Church is struggling to repair church property is the following. The unconstitutional middleman, the corrupt feds, stole their repair funding from them by means of unconstitutional federal taxes and wont give it back.
Note that people will argue the Congressional Act of 1803, "A Bill For the relief of the sufferers by fire, in the town of Portsmouth, in defense of the constitutionality of federal relief funding. But if they would do a little research on that bill then they would discover that all that that law did was to extend the deadline for merchants remitting tariffs to the federal government out of consideration for a fire that had destroyed property.
National Response Plan
Otherwise, other than inexcusably widespread ignorance of the amendable Constitution, there has never been anything stopping the states from amending the Constitution to give Congress the power to tax and spend for relief purposes.
So vote-winning federal funding for relief purpose is another example where the Founders had warned us concerning the feds unconstitutionally expanding their powers.
I believe there are more instances of the abridgement of freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments by those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations. James Madison, Speech at the Virginia Convention to ratify the Federal Constitution (1788-06-06)
To take a single step beyond the boundaries thus specially drawn around the powers of Congress, is to take possession of a boundless field of power, no longer susceptible of any definition. Thomas Jefferson, Jefferson's Opinion on the Constitutionality of a National Bank : 1791
The system of the General Government is to seize all doubtful ground. We must join in the scramble, or get nothing. Where first occupancy is to give right, he who lies still loses all. Thomas Jefferson to James Monroe, 1797.
Remember in November !
Patriots need to support the Trump / Pence ticket by also electing a new, state sovereignty-respecting Congress that will not only work within its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers to support Trumps vision for making America great again for everybody, but will also put a stop to unconstitutional federal taxes and unconstitutional interference in state affairs.
Note that such a Congress will also probably be willing to fire state sovereignty-ignoring activist justices.
We are Church of the Nazarene denom.Clendenin was hit hard, but is still helping others. Thanks for the reminder post.

I’ve past by that church, must be a million times in my life. It has to be one of the oldest churches in Clendenin. Never been in it but have some friends who do attend. They had just re-done the whole place several years ago then this happened. They had to throw out everything, new pews and all on the sidewalk. Plus they have other buildings that I’ve driven by that were hit. Just so heart breaking.
