The NYT also doesn't quote the rest of that reading, the most significant part. After he lists homosexuals AND all those different kind of sinners, Paul says --- to his saints at Corinth --- ...and such were some of you!

"AND SUCH WERE SOME OF YOU! But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God." (1 Cor 6:11)

See, God doesn't want you dead and damned! God wants you repentant, transformed, holy, happy, perfectly transfigured and radiantly beautiful, and safe within His love in heaven forever.

That's the way God is. He's good. To sinners. Says St. Paul -- and he should know.
