“My reading comprehension is fine. As is my sense of reality.
Every time I read an article about sexual assault on college campuses, drug and alcohol use by both sexes are almost always involved.”
Yes, and in armed robbery a gun is almost always involved.
However, we do not blame the gun or the victim.
We blame the perpetrator.
Is there a 180 degree flip side to this issue?
In other words, a “Dear Daughters” letter?
If a young male passes out from too much drinking, and an equally drunken female fondles him, is that a violent sexual assault?
Does the young lady involved deserve universal condemnation and a long prison sentence?
Ehhh, you can certain rape another male.
And women can sexually abuse men/boys.
Not near as common but does happen.
Good letter tho.
Letters written by moms are fine. A letter written by a dad would have been better. But neither is much of anything compared to the behavior a boy experiences his father actually display every day of his life.
The Stanford rapist's father is the reason he is what he is, and that comes across altogether too clearly in his father's pleading on the rapist's behalf.
“Boys will be boys” at my house was used to explain why one of my brothers would get a swing going high as he could and bailing out. It was also used when another brother preferred to ride broncs instead of gentle horses. Never was it used to justify anything like this. My father respected women and taught my brothers to respect women. My father would not accept any man disrespecting a woman. The men that think this way are not men at all.
“The Stanford rapist’s father is the reason he is what he is, and that comes across altogether too clearly in his father’s pleading on the rapist’s behalf. “
Oh I saw that letter and I wondered how many women that father raped while he was at Stanford. What a complete jerk.
I just don’t know what this world is coming to when a young woman can’t go to a frat house, and get totally passed out drunk around a bunch of strange guys, without her virginity being at risk.
Would that not be expected of a parental lecture given to sons?
The author didn’t have any daughters.
When in doubt: “Action” behind a dumpster with a drunk girl is always a poor choice.
Girls also need control. Control not to be manipulative, deliberately driving someone to anger hoping they get violent, being emotionally abusive, looking at a guy as a money machine and believing they are going to be the head of the house. Not lying and crying to frame someone.
If not it will very much lead to problems. Woe to the guy that gets involved with her.
Maybe she was drugged? Don’t know. But no, it does not follow that she must be victimized, no.
You seem to be defending criminal activity, due to the vulnerability of victims. ??
Tell young college bound men don’t even acknowledge women on campus. Don’t talk to them, don’t open doors for them, don’t help them, don’t even look at them. College are now places to grind you in to some pajama boy beta wimp and some girl would LOVE to destroy your life. Get a girl at church or you meet at some hobby activity.
Why no, she herself said she drank numerous vodkas before she got there, and then really hit it hard after she got there. I would never blame her at all. She is being a normal girl, just being free. I think it’s awful when drunk little virgins can’t go unconscious wherever they please in complete safety.
And also, it would be deeply wrong to suggest the diminished capacity alcohol induced in her also affects males.
How can you spin that as me blaming her for anything?
at 20 yrs old my father was fighting the Japanese...infact he was doing it when he was 17....
Yes, perhaps the victim has a drinking problem, but that does not mitigate or justify her being raped.
Yeah and priests and teachers violate children.
Until WE say enough is enough it continues
Rarely does a woman stand a chance against a man...exception would be if she has a gun
