Who are these Sisters of Mercy?
Activists! The following is from a recent "social justice" event.
As part of a global effort to draw attention to the world's addiction to fossil fuels, Mercy sisters and associates participated in the Hands Across the Hudson Flotilla on May 13 in Albany, New York. This action called kayaktivism involved using kayaks and canoes to form a blockade across the river to block barges carrying fracked oil.
Additionally, advocates protested the transportation of oil by train through low-income neighborhoods in Albany, NY.
These actions were part of ten days of Break Free from Fossil Fuels events held on six continents.

I was taught by the Sisters of Mercy (not the Mercy Sisters, you a**holes!) And a bigger bunch of miserable women you couldn’t meet. I wouldn’t be surprised if Sister Maria Virgo turned up as a guy.
Give me my beloved White Sisters of Africa from my extreme youth, any day! Or my mom’s Polish nuns at her nursing home circa 2015. What angels they were and are.

And what will Archbishop Cordileone do? Although it is not a diocesan school they still need the archbishop’s license to run a Catholic school or operate any other apostolate in the archdiocese. The sisters should be told to close the school and leave the archdiocese.

Fire the Sisters of Mercy and fire those they hired.

Additionally, advocates protested the transportation of oil by train through low-income neighborhoods in Albany, NY. But, of course, they are also against pipelines......sigh.

Honest question: Does the Catholic Church have ANY control over officially Catholic schools? If so, what are they waiting for?
