“Often times the obsessed, scrupulous, self-appointed, nostalgia-hankering virtual guardians of faith or of liturgical practices are very disturbed, broken and angry individuals, who never found a platform or pulpit in real life and so resort to the Internet and become trolling pontiffs and holy executioners!” Rosica said.

I think it’s a long way of calling them “bitter clingers”. This guy would feel right at home in the Obama press office.

He is a Lefty. He encourages civility and reaching out and other such in an attempt to silence and delegitimize conservative / traditional critics.

Yeah, the big tell is “nostalgia-hankering”.

This dude is just a typical liberal with an ax to grind against conservatives.

"they are deeply troubled, sad and angry people,”

Righteous anger, fella.

So the Vatican is starting to treat rank-and-file Catholics the way the GOP-e is treating the conservative wing of the Republican base.

my son has 2 more years at our parish parochial school. after he graduates I figure I will leave the parish and take a step back from church until I get a better idea of what direction it is headed in. I learned long ago that God is with me every waking moment as long as I keep him close to my heart. I don’t need to go into a building to gain salvation.

Also, watch that word ‘scrupulosity’. That’s thrown around now by lefties. They’re defining it away from its original meaning.

IMHO, this Vatican screed is unworthy of the Church.
The current Pontiff is (or at least has been widely and repeatedly quoted as) saying some quite upsetting things, many without apparent Biblical support and some appear directly contrary to scripture, imho.

Surprisingly, he hasn’t called me yet for advice. But when he does, as I am sure he will, I will advise His Holiness to provide scriptural support for his new or “radical” positions, and also to state them as clearly as possible so that there is less chance of confusion or misunderstanding.
Sort of like how his three immediate predecesors did....

Okay, that’s a new one to me. I’m guessing they’d use it something like “Scalia was scrupulous in his interpretation of the constitution”. And of course it would have a slighting meaning coming from them.

The Internet, Rosica said, “can be an international weapon of mass destruction, crossing time zones, borders and space.” He also described it as “an immense battleground that needs many field hospitals set up to bind wounds and reconcile warring parties.”

Essentially the internet just transports words, and my Catholic mother always said “sticks and stone can break my bones but words will never hurt me”. If people are “wounded” by words, it is because they choose to be, so I reckon it’s mainly their own problem.

And yet not a peep about how 90%+ of the “Catholic” universities in America are cesspools of liberal thought, including extreme pro-abortion views. But this Vatican would rather focus on a couple of bloggers who hold traditional views and criticize homosexuality.
