Okay, that’s a new one to me. I’m guessing they’d use it something like “Scalia was scrupulous in his interpretation of the constitution”. And of course it would have a slighting meaning coming from them.

Scrupulosity or Scruples has a particular meaning in Catholicism. It has nothing to do with wanting a return to ritual and tradition no matter how much this guy spins it.
