Not for me to say what is in his heart, but maybe he is heading south.
My late wife looked like a Vargas model back in her younger days. So I’ll take her at 18-35.
At the moment of our death we will undergo a particular judgment in which we will see our entire life flash before us and either be on our way to heaven, hell or purgatory.
At the final judgment, all souls will be there — sheep separated from the goats — and the sheep will go with Jesus while the goats will be bound for hell.
But our souls are always alive — they just don’t receive their bodies until the final judgment.
We do believe in a physical resurrection, it just happens later. When we die our souls will go to punishment or glory without the body. At the Last Judgment, our bodies and souls will be reunited.
Does the Catholic Church believe in the physical bodily resurrection of all mankind or only those who are heaven bound?
All mankind. From the Baltimore Catechism, which should give you all the info you need:
Q. 1392. In what state will the bodies of the just rise?
A. The bodies of the just will rise glorious and immortal.
Q. 1393. Will the bodies of the damned also rise?
A. The bodies of the damned will also rise, but they will be condemned to eternal punishment.
She will probably look like she did when you got married.
Remember that the disciples on the Road to Emmaus did not recognize Jesus — and the time lapse had only been three days!
I like to speculate that our resurrected bodies won’t really be frozen at a certain age but that we’ll retain aspects of our entire lifetime, just perfected.
Christ often appears as a child. As we will be similarly outside time at that point, all of our ages may be somehow wrapped up in our appearance. Don’t ask me to explain how LOL
Luke 34:31And their eyes were opened, and they recognized him.
yup.
At the breaking of the bread.
My daughter has been charged with doling out an allowance....
....though Ive adopted a new policy of spending an equal amount on man stuff like guns, gin & pizza
That’s just so amazing!! We have alot to look forward to after we depart this earth.
I think we will be able to will our bodies to appear at whatever age we want. I am 61 and I prefer the way I look now than the way I looked when I was 33... Well minus the extra weight anyway.
I have no scripture to back me up, but I have always felt that we will be children in heaven.
In heaven, isn’t everything due to God’s will?
We need to be concerned with the things of heaven, not earth.
Three saints have stated that they saw few souls going to heaven and many dropping into hell.
I want to look like that Dr. McDreamy from Gray’s Anatomy!
Of course. If God gives us the ability to go anywhere we want in that new world just by thought then possibly he would also give us the ability to appear at whatever age we want.
bkmk
