Did anyone watch "The Passion" on Fox last night? Comments please.
Didn’t watch it on Fox, but I watch it every year on Resurrection Day weekend. I still can’t watch some of the scenes because of brutality, but I love the movie. It causes me to reflect, be in pain, and be thankful.
it was nice seeing young black kids, especially teenage boys, in the audience in such large numbers from New Orleans.
Decent modern take on the Passion. Decent song picks.
two and a half stars :)
very sincere
The theme of the first half hour was that we are saved by our belief in New Orleans and boy bands. Then, Trisha started singing and it got much better.
Not the movie The Passion of the Christ. This was a Fix musical about Christ’s last days set in modern time with modern music.
If it is the one in NOLA, no. When I found out Tyler Perry (Obama supporter and Oprah endorsed) was behind it....
nope.
I thought it was great that network TV had a show telling the Easter story.
When’s the last time they did that.
I recorded it, and I’m going to have my daughter watch it.
Oh - no, sorry. I misunderstood. Didn’t watch it....not watching ANYTHING on Fox.
I watched it and found it fascinating that any network and sponsors would fund and air such an obviously Christian program. I loved the illuminated cross carried through the streets of New Orleans. The gospel was clear at the end even if Tyler Perry did say something like, ‘but hey, you believe what you want, ok?’ Maybe he had to say that to appease the network since his previous message was about salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.
My preference for an Easter movie is “Ben Hur”.
I have a two-disc Set of the 1959 version of the movie with Charlton Heston.
Look forward to it each year.
Well, there is a remake of Ben-Hur coming with Morgan Freeman in the role of the chariot owner.
No, it wasn’t the movie. It was a large “production” from New Orleans.
Too much Nawlins for me.
I love the ‘59 version of Ben Hur.
Hollywood is about to release a new version.
What does that even mean?
Well .. I’m not very happy with anything out of Hollywood for quite a few years.
I think I’ll stick with the 1959 version.
I also thought that the song from Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome was a nice touch.
I guess I didn’t watch long enough. I couldn’t get passed 15 min. I was one giant selfie for NOLA.
Yes, they finally released the trailers last week and, while I will go see it, Ben-Hur looks like a waif.
