There was a man in the Old Testament whose name was Jonah. God told him to do something, but he run away and thought he could hide from the presence of God. Then God commanded a big fish to swallow him. Miraculously, he survived in the belly of the fish for three days. During these three days he did three things:
The Scripture says âAnd the Lord commanded the fish, and it vomited Jonah onto dry landâ (Jonah 1:10).

Jonah did what God bid him to do, but he still ran from God. He remained vengeful toward the Ninevites and was was still wanting the Lord to destroy them. The last we heard of Jonah, he said “I do well to be angry, even unto death.” Until the very end, he does not follow God’s command to love the alien as himself.
