Sports Media Mocks Tebow Over Abstinence Pledge Break Up

Tim Tebow recently split with girlfriend Olivia Culpo — a former Miss USA model — and the reason is said to be the former Broncos quarterback’s abstinence pledge.

Yes, that’s right, folks. You now live in a culture where a girl doesn’t want a man who respects her enough to wait until he is ready to commit to her, faithfully for life, and not just use her body for his own personal pleasure.

Sports media, as you might expect, had a field day mocking Tebow and his desire to please God with his sexuality.

Tim Tebow’s relationship with former Miss USA model Olivia Culpa is over. Because, according to reports, Culpo is upset that the couple isn’t having sex, since Tebow has decided to remain abstinent until marriage.

First up is the New York Daily News, who ran with this ultra-original header:

“Tim Tebow still can’t find the end zone as girlfriend Olivia Culpo breaks it off over lack of sex”

Followed-up by this quip:

“For once, it’s not Tim Tebow who’s having trouble scoring – it’s his girlfriend.”

At the risk of being graphic here, the report wasn’t that Tebow “can’t find the end zone,” the problem was that Tebow would not enter the end zone. Nor, was he having “trouble scoring.” He chose not to score.

CBS continued the yuck-fest with this gem:

“Apparently an NFL job isn’t the only thing Tim Tebow can’t hold onto.

The New York Daily News reports former Miss USA Olivia Culpo broke up with Tebow because he wouldn’t have sex with her due to his abstinent lifestyle.” Classy, right?

This is a sad testament to just how morally bankrupt our society has become, when a man does something honorable like saving himself for his future bride, makes him a laughingstock.

Although I’d have to say the mockery says far more about the lack of character possessed by journalists in the media than it does anything else.

Tebow is a good man who loves Jesus and is dedicated to his faith. I hope other young men look to his example here and follow in his footsteps.

Concur. Romo will probably never set foot on the grid iron again, and although Cassel is a good QB, he has to learn to be better than his below average offensive line. Tebow has that ability now.

Yeah but ... I am their typical fan-viewer. Why should I stick around and watch the rest of the Cowboys season? They are going to limp around until the end of the season and keep talking about next season. But I want to watch THIS season and not be strung along knowing that they are going to lose every game from here on out.

The least they could do is give the fans an alternative and a reason to keep us interested.

Tim Tebow would fill that bill. If Jerry Jones can bring in Matt Cassel on the spur of the moment why can't he bring in Tim? When Denver had him, Denver loved to watch him play, game after game.

Tebow has had four chances with four teams, all of whom want to win. And all four of those teams have decided that he was not the quarterback who could help them. Tebow is not an NFL caliber quarterback, never has been. Every NFL team has reached that conclusion. It's time for his die-hard fans to accept that as well.

According to multiple reports Tebow and Culpo split up recently due to Tim’s commitment to abstinence. The story goes ... she wanted it, but he wasn’t giving it up.

Well, sources close to the situation tell us Tebow and Culpo’s romantic relationship never went beyond the rumor stage. We’re told the chatter started after Olivia and Tim met in church a few months ago — and even though their reps denied it, a lot of people ran with it.

Our sources say Tim did show interest in Olivia, and they hung out a few times WITH mutual friends ... but never had a one-on-one date
