I read the article. I find this Talmudic commentary an uninspired and uninspiring fable, to say the least.

�›ז וַיִּגְדְּלוּ, הַנְּעָרִים, וַיְהִי עֵשָׂו אִישׁ יֹדֵעַ צַיִד, אִישׁ שָׂדֶה; וְיַעֲקֹב אִישׁ תָּם, יֹשֵׁב אֹהָלִים. 27 And the boys grew; and Esau was a cunning hunter, a man of the field; and Jacob was a quiet man, dwelling in tents. And the boys grew: and Esau was a cunning hunter, a man of the field; and Jacob was a plain man, dwelling in tents.

Genesis, Catholic chapter twenty five, Protestant verse twenty seven,

and KJV
as authorized, but not authored, by King James

Normally, the KJV translated "tam" as "perfect" but for some inexplicable reason used "plain" in Jacob's case. In that respect, he was perfect, as were Job and Noah.
