Monsignor Pope Ping!
I can only imagine this could very well be a topic that comes up around the Thanksgiving dinner table this year. I appreciate having something to help me when it does eventually arise.
Discuss? Anyone buying in to the sick notion of faggot-marriage isn’t welcome under my roof, family or not.
Good luck with that. This article assumes that you would be able to have a reasonable discussion with a gay marriage supporter.
All you have to do is say “I don’t support gay marriage” and the majority of supporters start nearly foaming at the mouth and then start caling you a bigot and a homophobe and hate-monger. Trying to have a rational discussion with them is like trying to herd cats.
Thanks for this post.
My father lost his job in the late 50s for standing up for Civil Rights. His grandchildren grew up with that story. They now believe that “gay rights” are in the same category. I’m not going to exclude them from my life because of what they see as a continuation of their grandfather’s heritage. I strongly believe that they are wrong as does my surviving brother but simply excluding them isn’t productive. I also wonder whether you also exclude anyone who has had heterosexual sex outside of marriage or if you quiz anyone about that before allowing them into your home. Or whether you ask them whether they have master-bated in the past few weeks. We have two friends who have same sex attraction. (they don’t know each other - i.e., not partners) We also don’t exclude them from our lives. Its our job to be a witness to a strong covenant marriage. (46 years)
What do you tell a friend who has just told you that his niece is now a nephew (a scientist, by the way) and you have to accept it?
One of the reasons the past is so enticing to so many of us is that no matter what sins people were committing, they hide it and didn’t announce it during Thanksgiving dinner. That way, we could invite everyone without fear of a food fight.
I will not allow discussion of politics at my table during the holidays.
The people who pushed faggot-marriage can all go choke to death for all I care. They’ve mightily contributed to turning this country into the sick, depraved cesspool it has now become. A country I’m now disgusted and ashamed of. A pervert nation.

That topic is sooo last year. This year's topic is transgender rights.
Because one can't reason with unreasonable people and their ideas, I generally ask them this question.
Why is two women titilating one another or one man putting his lower proboscis into another man's hind end so appealing to you?
Tell them to look at the state of the world and THEN tell
you that GAY MARRIAGE is still all that fit a topic to
talk about. If they persist, “Yada Yada Yada Yak Yak Yak”,
would be a good answer. -
This is not the appropriate forum to state the one and only question I would ask.
What about, “Oh, how interesting ...”?
I am with you. The few liberals in my family do not ever show their face at my house and never will!
My perspective is to not exclude people from your life simply because you disagree with them. You don’t have to compromise your position. Perhaps they may consider the suggestion to read this book:
“I love my mother; she loves me. You’d have no objections to our marriage to each other, would you?”
Really? How did she manage to change the genetic code in every cell of their body? If she still has XX chromosomes then she is still a woman no matter how she mutilates her body to look otherwise
