F. We can somehow wholly avoid deception and error apart from Scripture and the teaching of the Church. Jesus answered them, “You are deceived, because you don’t know the Scriptures or the power of God" (Matt 22:29).

I find it of note there is NO mention of "tradition" or the RCC in the passage from Matthew 22:29.

The Msgr appears to be adding the church to this passage when in reality the Scriptures are the authority from which the Christian church derives its teachings.....not tradition.

I went to that page, skimmed the post, and was alarmed at first. I’d mistaken his six lettered points near the end (after “What are some of the common ways people ‘want’ to be deceived?”) as beginning with statements to be affirmed instead of statements to be refuted. :p

I’d prefer that these beginning statements were more clearly marked as false and more clearly distinguished from the contrasting scriptural quotations following them.
