I’m a Protestant but I do have a question or 2 or so...
why are these guys bishops ???
are they not vetted and watched and evaluated throughout their clerical lives and service to see how they measure up ???
Are they promoted through the ranks on merit or religious and church politics ???
Is the Pope going to insist on investigating these guys for possible homosexual activity or sex crimes against little boys in the past ???
Bishops and Cardinals come from that pool of priests....there you go....
when the 60's rolled around and our Catholic seminaries became homosexually centered, the future was cast...
The German clerics believe in a “collegial church”, not an Apostolic church. Similar to much of the American Catholics.

They are de-facto independent just as most U.S. Dioceses are ... the Pope has little authority over them because they would simpy ignore him.

The churchmen in Germany have been doing plenty of fornicating with the kings of the earth. Just like Boston and CHI and LA.
