I was a Methodist during my first marriage, as that was her denomination and there was no thought ever given to attending a church of my faith. And yes, that is a typical Methodist pastor.

Methodist pastors are normally considered to be the elders, but we also have local pastors and lay speakers who are pastoring small churches. These tend to be more conservative and the counter-balance to the more liberal elders.
