Ping!
You can’t lead people to heaven by taking a few sight-seeing tours past hell first.
God is intolerant towards sin. Just saying.
. The rcc has changed its positions many times as previously noted on the RF which I will not go into again at this time.
Think of how much life would be easier if we got to change the rules as we went along!!!.....like divorce and remarriage....
What should be of great concern to the Catholic laity is if their clergy are in variance. It’s not just the priest and the bishop who are in trouble with heaven if they are
anarcho-socialist-communist-atheist-homosexual-Wiccans.
Everyone they minister to are denied every sacrament they offer. No righteousness flows through them in either direction.
In the seventh session of the Council of Trent (1545-1563), it was determined that if a priest “did not intend to ‘do as the Church does,’ in granting sacraments”, then the sacraments are not valid.
Si quis dixerit, in ministris, dum sacramenta conficiunt et conferunt, no requiri intentionem saltem faciendi quod facit ecclesia; anathema sit. Can. xi. sess. vii., Canones et Decreta Conc. Trid., p. 43., Lipsiae, 1863. [Council of Trent, 7th Session, March 3rd, 1547, On the Sacraments in General - Canon 11.]

Which makes you wonder about the current Pope.
“It may well be that we have lived out the disease. It may well be that we are on the threshold of a time when Catholic unity will return. Certainly that is the only hope for our civilization. But on the other hand there is a possibility of yet greater peril, of a yet increased decline in our culture. In that case the high tradition of Europe will have to stand at siege again, as it did in the Dark Ages: restricted to some small body which shall still maintain the unbroken Catholic culture.”
