That's not the purpose of FR and not the purpose of our Religion forum. Trashing religion is not debate.
Those who cannot live with this are welcome to post elsewhere.
Been known to do that on occasion...
The daily sport of posting Catholic bashing threads on FR stops today.
Actually, while my own knee-jerk reaction was "does this mean there can be no more articles refuting RC claims, the rule actually is "The daily sport of posting Catholic bashing threads on FR stops today."
And which bashing is defined as "Trashing religion" versus debate. And see response to my question as to whether this applies to Prot bashing as well
Rather than getting more technical and expanding the wise basic rules which RMs have overall judiciously enforced - the best in the business in my opinion (and despite some attempts to censor all opposition or debate), i think the owner is excluding the daily articles (that were in response to incessant RC ones) which are more proactive attacks rather than those which invite intelligent debate.
But given the elitist claims of RCs that inevitably are typically made rather than reasonable arguments, as well as certain Prot responses, then that is difficult.
I recall years ago, when I was on a school board and a negotiator with the teachers supervisors union, I was accused of teacher “bashing” because I opposed a 7% pay increase. It is a favorite liberal word to silence opposition. It requires no explanation ,no definition and no thought. It merely requires an accusation.
I promised myself to get above that but I can see its an uphill battle, even with “principled conservatives” who won’t give you the time of day if it puts them on the spot to read their watches.
As is Google...
That's one reason why I force them to look up scripture passages for me. [8^')
Make that devil a slave for good -- against it's will. lol.
If some Jesuit priest (the man is an astronomer) can openly, in public, talk about baptizing extraterrestrials, well then -- maybe I can help "bump' the bible itself up a little higher in Google ratings?
I doubt that it would cause any Google server hardware to convert to Christianity, but if just one Googler (employee of Google) is led to take a peek...
hopefully the policy will be clarified as it is enforced.
one man’s definition:
if something is opinion, it should be allowed.
if something can be proven false, it should be removed. example, if a Catholic posts a story accusing Baptists of worshipping the Bible, it is bashing Baptists no? No Baptist I have ever met would agree they worship the Bible.
Do you post daily or frequent threads that are designed to attack Catholics or the Catholic religion or our Catholic friends and Christian conservative allies here on FR?
If not, this thread probably does not concern you.
Here's an example right here! This is patently ridiculous!
It's like when liberals say "Conservative-Friendly Fox News".
No where, no how, no way, is there any Catholic doctrine, dogma or teaching that states it wants to turn the USA into a dictatorship!
That "certain" Catholics might want or state this has nothing to do with Catholicism or the Catholic Church!
Jimmy Carter is a Baptist. Does that mean I can constantly say the "Certain Baptists propose a Leftwing Totalitarian Race-based America?
Why even bring it up EXCEPT to bash?
Sigh. Those are simply not tenets of the Catholic faith
Nowhere will you see it
People here say, as you do, ‘it seems like Catholics do ...believe...” But all you have to do. Is this
Google tge catechism one any subject and you will find the true catholic position that people who say they are catholic cannot change
Catholics do not want the world to be one religion
So uninformed
I have never know one either. Jesus is our Lord and Savior. The Bible is our guide book.
Sorry — I can’t reply because I don’t want to be accused of bashing.
Have a wonderful day.

No, it is not hypocritical at all, as it is one thing to support refutations of RC claims, which i did, and another to say they should be done daily or 3-4 times a week, which was never my words.
And who are those several people you consider were "bashing" RC faith that are now saying there were too many articles? Or is this more RC imagining reproof is bashing and baiting Prots via false charges?
So what. Is beating someone making you "right"?
From my hospital bed, I thank you.
I hope to be home soon. I will then donate $100.
You’re part of the cheering section on the anti-Catholic threads.
One excellent feature about FR is that posts remain “forever.”
God bless and keep you both!
This thread reminds me of conversations in my five-teenager household.
“Who, me? I never did that!”
“What does that mean, exactly? But what about hair-splitting exceptions X, Y, and Z?”
“He did it first!”
“Why does he get to ...?”
“You always loved Tom best!”
“I’m going to move out!”
(”Write when you find work.”)
That poster said that was the poster’s thought when I asked. It has been a while and I do not remember who posted the answer to me. I just remember being absolutely shocked that someone on here would say that.
As my African American bunk mate used to say in Basic Training when someone complained about PT: Po ting, Po Po ting.
BTW thank you for bringing back a very pleasant memory of a good friend.
