I have always been taught Moses wrote the first five books....The important thing is what his New Covenant was and meant. His status during the Old Test days is kind of, angels on a pin stuff. To add to what the others have already written in response to your post, I give you this:
"For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me, for he wrote about Me.
But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?"
