In addition to White Mainline Protestant, support was highest among Unitarian Universalist, then Jewish, followed by Buddhists, Catholics, Orthodox Christians, and Hindus. Support was least among Jehovah's Witnesses and Mormons.

Too bad the poll doesn’t poll Traditional Catholics. That would be 100% strongly oppose.

I begin to wonder if the oft-expressed hate towards Jehovah’s Witnesses isn’t due to their closer adherence to biblical principles ?

Due to surveys having secrecy and confidentiality being inherent within them, this may be the true attitude of Catholics on this matter - that is when they aren’t around other Catholics or at church.
To: Arlis
Yes, that would be the socially liberal “Catholics” who attend the Novus Ordo mass (or not). Definitely not socially conservative Catholics or Traditional Catholics.
And that stat doesn’t surprise me.

**Too bad the poll doesnt poll Traditional Catholics.**

No, it would represent those Catholics that actually believe Catholic teachings.

Catholics who regularly attend Mass and live their life according to the teachings of the Church, do not support make-believe marriage.
The exact same thing can be said for any devout protestant.

And while the Catholic Church officially opposes the legalization of same-sex marriage, about six in ten white (61 percent), Hispanic (60 percent), and other non-white Catholics (60 percent) support allowing gay and lesbian couples to marry legally.
Note to these Catholics: You aren't.
