If somebody else posted this list previously, my apologies for the dupe.
Tertullian and his “Montanist heresy”
Protestant beliefs ???
I wouldn't generalize it as "Protestant" -- having said that, there might be a small subset of charismatics who could fall within that category. But I haven't studied it so much as to be able to say definitively "this group" or "that group."
Regardless of all these Church fathers stating that homosexuality is immoral and ungodly, Nancy Pelosi still thinks same sex marriage is OK..
Just when is her priest going to refuse her Communion ???
They threatened over her stand on abortion and then did nothing about it...she still receives the Eucharist..
Surely her support for sins against God and nature will cause correction from her spiritual authorities..
To me that’s the litmus test..what will the Catholic Church do about politicians and celebrities ???
Will the pope speak ex cathedra about supporting homosexuality and participating ???
Redistribution has come to include condyloma acuminata.
See any pathology text.
God knows when...I don't.
Will the pope speak ex cathedra about supporting homosexuality and participating ???
As for homosexuality, there's no need...it's in the Deposit of Faith.
As for supporting it, it's already been clearly defined. Again, no need to re-define what's already been defined.
HOWEVER...I agree that the Pope needs to unambiguously and prominently affirm what has already been discussed. And he, not through the teaching office but through the "Supreme Legislator" office, needs to direct bishops to enforce Canon 915 on public officials that support such things.
This has been done at times by specific bishops (for example, Bishop Paprocki) And do you recall the dust-up between Cardinal Ratzinger and McCarrick back in 2004 over John Kerry receiving Holy Communion? This should have gone farther after McCarrick blew him off, but it didn't.
And, of course, the Pope appointing limp-wristed leftists, such as Cupich, to major sees doesn't help correct matters at all.
Thanks for posting. #11 especially good.
CHAPTER CXXII.
How injustice reigns in the above-mentioned wicked ministers ; and that particularly in that they do not correct their subjects.
" I HAVE told thee how in My beloved ones there shone the pearl of justice. Now I will tell thee how these miserable wretches wear injustice on their breast as a buckle, which injustice both proceeds from, and is clasped with their own self-love, through which they commit injustice against their own souls and against Me, in the darkness of their in discretion.
" Me they deprive of glory, and themselves of honour and a holy life, having neither desire for the salvation of souls nor hunger for virtue. For this reason they act unjustly towards their subjects and their neighbour, and do not correct their vices ; rather they are blind and do not know them, and allow their subjects to sleep and lie quiet in their infirmities, from their disordinate fear of offending creatures. But they do not observe that in thus wishing to please creatures, they in reality displease them, and Me, your Creator, as well. Sometimes indeed they do correct their neighbour, in order to cloak themselves in some rag of justice. But they do not go to a great man who is living in great and open sin, for they are afraid if they do that he will interfere with their own state and life, but they turn on some insignificant person, for they see that he can do them no harm. Thus is injustice committed through miserable self-love, which has poisoned the whole world , and the mystical body of the holy Church, and through which the garden of My Spouse has run to seed and given birth to putrid flowers, which garden was properly cultivated at the time when the true labourers were there, that is to say, My holy ministers, and was adorned with many fragrant flowers, for the subjects led virtuous, honourable and holy lives, through the examples of their good pastors. To-day it is not so, but rather the contrary, for through wicked pastors the subjects have also become wicked. My Spouse is full of the various thorns of many sins, not that she can in herself be infected through the stench of sin, for the virtue of the Sacraments can receive no harm, but those who feed at the breast of this Spouse are infected by the stench in their souls, losing the dignity in which I have placed them, though that dignity is not diminished in itself, but only with regard to them.
" Wherefore through their sins the Blood is held of no account, for seculars lose the due reverence which they ought to pay to them for the Blood's sake ; not that they ought to do so, and their fault, even if I forgive them, is none the less on account of the sins of their pastors, who are wretched mirrors of sin, in that office in which I have placed them in order to be mirrors of virtue."
Sound familiar at all?
Had St Catherine lived in modern times, I wonder what Cardinal Dolan, Cardinal O'Malley, Cardinal Wuerl, et al, would say about her? (That is a rhetorical question; I have no doubt what they'd say)
If you want to read the context, it's Chapter CXXIV. You can read it here
BTW, sorry, I was giving you a link to #10, not #11. Still worth reading...
Mark,
These are quotations every CHRISTIAN, should know.

Is there a parent on the planet that is overjoyed to find out their son or daughter is a homo? Outwardly they may hide it but how can this make anyone other than disappointed?
When will the majority of protestants stop voting for Obama. This is a protestant dominated country and more protestants voted for Obama than Catholics.
Wait - Catholics have been telling me that Protestants stayed home and didn't vote at all. Now I hear that Protestants were supposed to vote for Catholics?
A number of these folk, when they do attend a church, attend one that denies the divinity of Jesus Christ and embrace secular beliefs.
And, of course, the Pope appointing limp-wristed leftists, such as Cupich, to major sees doesn’t help correct matters at all.
Such a limp-wristed leftist, assigned to any modern parish as priest, will be vigorously defended by today’s parishionate...
Familiarity breeds a lazy mind...and rarely a focused discernment...
See post 8
They weren't, as I understand it, an organization so much as a movement, and had different practices and prophecies at different locales, some in conflict and contradicting each other.
I don't think that's actually Protestantism, unless you want it to be.
I wouldn't be surprised if she's been offered Communion since then, but that would be by a priest or bishop who is acting in defiance of Church law.
The whole world would be a whole lot better off if Catholics acted like Catholics.
As for the pope speaking ex cathedra about supporting homosexuality and participating, this is already an explicit part of Scripture, the Catechism and the Ordinary Magisterium, which means, it's already been ruled on and is part of the public law of the Church.
From the Catechism:
2357 Homosexuality refers to relations between men or between women who experience an exclusive or predominant sexual attraction toward persons of the same sex. It has taken a great variety of forms through the centuries and in different cultures. Its psychological genesis remains largely unexplained. Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity, tradition has always declared that "homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered." They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved.
Woe to the preachers who do not preach it.
Once again, as I think you'd agree, these Catholic should be a helluva lot MORE Catholic: that would be pleasing to God and result in better pastoring for ALL of us.
When there are sufficient coins in the offering plate to match hers?
