There have been epochs through the History of Catholicism when I believe God did use it to bring many into the faith.

Also the Mormons, in my thinking.

But once a person gets past all the milk and starts chewing of the meat; then they have a decision to make!

Stay; and deal with the stench of the albatross of extraneous acts wrapped around their necks; or flee to the simplicity that Christ offers to all.
