Explosive intervention by Pope Francis set to transform climate change debate
UK Guardian ^ | June 13, 2015 | John Vidal

Posted on 06/14/2015 1:34:11 AM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

The most anticipated papal letter for decades will be published in five languages on Thursday. It will call for an end to the ‘tyrannical’ exploitation of nature by mankind. Could it lead to a step-change in the battle against global warming?

Pope Francis will call for an ethical and economic revolution to prevent catastrophic climate change and growing inequality in a letter to the world’s 1.2 billion Catholics on Thursday.

In an unprecedented encyclical on the subject of the environment, the pontiff is expected to argue that humanity’s exploitation of the planet’s resources has crossed the Earth’s natural boundaries, and that the world faces ruin without a revolution in hearts and minds. The much-anticipated message, which will be sent to the world’s 5,000 Catholic bishops, will be published online in five languages on Thursday and is expected to be the most radical statement yet from the outspoken pontiff.

However, it is certain to anger sections of Republican opinion in America by endorsing the warnings of climate scientists and admonishing rich elites, say cardinals and scientists who have advised the Vatican....

I don’t think he was forced into any of this. He has a long track record of statements like this, and his actions since he has been pope have shown that he has no concern for the Church and would be perfectly happy to see it sold off and shut down,

I would hope Catholics will start leaving the church in droves... if it’s true .

If it’s true? The Guardian, although lefty (what newspaper isn’t?) is one of the major newspapers in the United Kingdom and read around the world. Would they risk their reputation on something like this?

I though jonrick46 (post 15) had something going there in his thoughts on the process as well.

There is a driving desire in humanity to get back to the garden of Eden, and that is all well and good.

However, when man strives for the goal without consulting God, who will require the belief in His beloved Son, Jesus Christ, and repentance of sin and conversion to the heart of Christ, then he seeks a solely natural path where he tries to get there on his own.

It is like if a son wants to be a baseball player but refuses his father’s advice to practice.

“Why can’t I just buy a baseball uniform and join the team? I want to hit home runs and steal bases and catch fly balls with my uniform on. I don’t want to practice, I just want to be a star.”

That is why, sadly, this is an antipope, which is to say he isn’t an authentic pope. He teaches heresy like other recent popes, only moreso. We must pray that God will forgive us and send us again an authentic pope, such as Pope Pius X, and then revere that pope and look to hear Christ through him as we did popes in the past.

I will require that we deserve such a pope, so we must REPENT AND BELIEVE the Good News and sin no more.

Whats nutty? He has a long track record of left wing populism and the UN types want catholics to stop being Catholic.

Which part of those id nutty conspiracy stuff in your opinion?

Does the Vatican not have a Pedo problem?

Does the Vatican not have a bunch of homosexualists in the ranks?

Has the vatican not been on record in promoting very non Catholic socialism since this communist ascended?

What part of that is untrue?

“...I will require...”

TYPO alert:

should read
“It will require that we deserve such a pope, so we must REPENT AND BELIEVE the Good News and sin no more.”

The pope has officially become political. No reason to listen to anything he has to say from this point on.

Oh we absolutely DESERVE this alright. No doubt about it. The problem is so many people that have already been found wanting.

I never thought I would see the day. We all sin. None are above that. But to openly back this fraud?

Jesus -literally- wept.

Not if you look at the points made. Think about them. They would all take weeks to type out. Forget the shorthand a moment and look at the bigger picture.

I do not doubt that there are problems in the RCC, but sadly there are problems in the Christian faith community in general.

I agree. But the Pope has long served as a focal point even to non catholics. He;s the EF Hutton of christianity whether one is Baptist or Catholic or Presp. He speaks and people WILL listen. Might not agree, but they listen.

So when he repeatedly says ‘Socialism”, thats a problem. A big one. When he goes 180 against Gospel on multiple subjects, one has to look at his roots as to why. His roots are in Liberation Theology and Latin socialism. Not in God.

He ascended under the most bizzare circumstances in several hundred years. Out of nowhere. And he has had the MSM fawning over him.

What are the odds this is ‘Gods work”?

The pope is becoming an agent of the Gaia worshipers. He is preaching a return to the “old gods” and will cause millions of humans to die as civilization is rolled back and poverty and disease spread.

I could see the Guardian putting its special spin to it. But it is probably true given this Marxist Pope earlier anti capitalism pronouncements. We’ll find out soon enough.

Social and institutional forces have been completely realigned the past few years - I wonder what new “order” will emerge from this disorder.

We’re living the Chinese curse - “interesting times”.
