Catholic translation "Before Joseph figured out that he was never allowed to have sex with his wife, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

Joseph:  Mary; are you asleep?
Mary: You bozo; you KNOW I have to do my prayers.

Joseph:  I was just wondering if....
Mary: You hornytoad;  you KNOW I have had this HEADACHE for nigh unto these 12 years or so!

Joseph:  A fella can HOPE eternally; can't he?
Mary: Hope all you want; you ain't gettin' it:   I HAVE to remain a VIRGIN for my FOLLOWERS!!

Joseph:  What 'followers'?
Mary: The ones who will be bombarding me forEVER with their heartfelt requests!!!

Joseph:  I may as well be dead...
Mary: What did you just mumble?  I ain't DEAD; just FRIGID.  Now roll OVER and go to sleep.

Mary: Son? are  You listening??   I've got a bunch more good, Catholic prayers for you to deal with.  Ready?

Hypothetical

Translation: example of non-biblical Catholic teaching.

How do you know what God hasn’t never done?

ROME seems to know; for it has conjured all KINDS of things up about His words and actions.

So I guess He could not have, based on your logic!

The 'logic' you mention is a strawman.

Rome says, "It's not recorded that HE did or said such-and-such; therefore how can ANYONE say that He didn't?"

What was your purpose of publishing the letter from the first Church council regarding “all that is required”?

Micah 6:8
He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

John 6:28-29
Then they asked him, "What must we do to do the works God requires?
Jesus answered, "The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent."

1 John 3:21-23
Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him.
And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us.

James 1:27
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

St. Paul in his First Epistle to the Corinthians (4:15), claims for himself, and others, the respect of being called a father spiritually.

Oh?

Corinthians 4:15 Douay-Rheims Bible
For if you have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet not many fathers. For in Christ Jesus, by the gospel, I have begotten you.

BEGOTTEN?

Do you REALIZE what he just SAID?

Or is there perhaps a misunderstanding on your part ...

Paul wrote THIS before the verse that YOU seleceted:

Corinthians 1:14-15 Douay-Rheims Bible
I give God thanks, that I baptized none of you but Crispus and Caius: Lest any should say that you were baptized in my name.

It appears that Paul knew that his actions could be mis-interpreted by some.

If he only knew what some folks were doing to justify calling a church leader 'Father'...

Jesus’ command is that we are not to address religious leaders by the title of *Father*.

Y’all can make all the excuses y’all want, and we’ve seen it all before, but I sure would not want to be in a position of using Scripture to justify disobeying Jesus clear, direct, and unequivocal command.

But if you want, have at it, and see how it works out for you.

Joseph was not allowed to have sex with Mary? I wonder how Mary's other children came about? Magic?

Catholic answer: They're cousins. By the way that's also the Arkansas answer.

I’m sorry but you are getting rather incoherent.

Let's set a yearly cycle where this one is posted June 9 EVERY year, as well as any articles about the sex abuse scandal, or Francis' railings against capitalism, or articles on various blundering statements he's made like "Who am I to judge?" All on the anniversary date of their publication.

Excellent idea! Some of those subjects I did not read. Could you give links to those? Thanks! I promise not to repost them, but I would like to read the threads.

No, they were unable to accept the literal meaning of His words, and so He let them go.

Is it MY fault you cannot see that begotten involves SEXUAL INTERCOURSE?

I left in 1970. Now, to be fair, I am thankful the RCC taught me about God, Jesus, Satan, Heaven, Hell, but never taught me how to go to the first and avoid the second. That, I learned, by reading the Bible for myself. Praise God for that. I enjoy my assurance of salvation. It's a beautiful thing. Everyone should know it.

Like you, I was born, baptized, attended CCD, was confirmed, and married to my wife in the Catholic Church. So I credit the Catholic Church with planting the "seed" of my salvation but it wasn't until we (wife and I both at the same time) left the church that I really began to understand through reading the Bible what it meant to have a close, personal relationship with Jesus. I agree with your statement "Everyone should know it." Right on. Everyone should know Jesus on a close, personal level and not concern themselves with the "rules" and dogma of any church, including the Catholic Church where they seem to overshadow the importance of focusing on our Savior.

I find it so ironic that you will use terms such as "protestant heresy"...yet when the Pope says the “Koran And Holy Bible Are The Same"...and "“Jesus Christ, Jehovah, Allah. These are all names employed to describe an entity that is distinctly the same across the world"...THAT you'll defend.

Just WOW. You'll call embracing the ORIGINAL (not centuries of traditional teachings but the way the ORIGINAL Christians did) way of following Christ HERESY...yet your Pope sings the praises of the Koran (which was written by Satan) and Muhammad (who was an evil man and probably demon possessed)...THAT you are OK with.

So that leads me to a question: Just exactly WHAT would this Pope have to do in order for you to use that term "heresy" about him?

It's funny that this pope won't even use that term "heresy" about me anymore (even though you guys have done a stellar job of white-washing history)...or anyone (not even atheists)...yet YOU will (and give him a pass when he says the Bible and the Koran are the same).

If what he says is OK by you...and you deem me a heretic...then I am MORE than glad to be called that by you...because FRiend...I don't want ANY of that so called religion you are peddling. Anyone who calls the Koran and Islam ANYTHING OTHER than what it is....is a compromising heretic and if you agree with the pope's stance on the Koran and Islam...then you are a heretic as well.

Good news:

I do NOT ascribe to the heresy of “John Paul II” because I as a TRUE Catholic reject his “papacy” on the same counts that you do.

Now that aside, I do recognized the true papacies of popes prior to the heretic “John XXIII” which you may not. All of the “popes” from “John XXIII” were heretics because they accept a Protestantized version of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.

Repent and believe the good news of Jesus Christ!

I have repented and believed. Here is the Gospel: For by grace you are saved, not of yourselves but it is a gift from God, not by works least any should boast (Eph 2:8, 9). I have agreed with God concerning my condition (as a sinner) and also agreed with Him concerning the just punishment for my crimes...which are against Him and His holy nature. I agree that there is nothing within myself worthy of redemption and I deserve hell because of my sin. THAT is repentance...that is the way the word is used in the New Testament scriptures (and the LXX). Therefore, I have repented as it is defined by the scriptures.

I also BELIEVE that Jesus Christ paid the penalty of those sins on the Cross. His blood atoned for my sin (and without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin). I have placed my absolute hope and unwavering trust in His sacrifice to save me. That is faith as defined by the scriptures.

I believe Jesus Christ has existed eternally with the Father and Holy Spirit in the Trinity. I believe that Jesus is God's ONLY Son. I believe He (Jesus) was born of the Virgin Mary (As was prophesied in Isaiah 7)...He lives a sinless life...He died on the cross as a ransom for many (Matthew 20:28)...He was buried and rose again on the 3rd day according to the scriptures. He ascended and is now seated at the right hand of God. He will come again to judge the world and set up His kingdom.

That is the Gospel. That is the "good news"...and I have believed it...as countless others did and have throughout the ages.
