As a cradle, practicing Catholic who has been trying to take a positive view of the current Pope, my patience is running thin. Pray for the Pope.

Any believer who has entrusted himself or herself to the saving sacrifice of Christ is a brother or sister.
Any member of a church who has yet to come to saving faith in Christ is close to family.

The pope is a heretic. Hopefully he’ll be replaced. He’s no longer Catholic. The longer he remains to spout his nonsense the worst off the church is.

What’s heretical about this statement? The pope seems to be saying that Satan is promoting the persecution of Christians, regardless of their denomination. Why is that heretical?
I think Catholics SHOULD think evangelicals, etc. are heretical and vice versa. Otherwise everyone has to take the position that doctrine and truth do not matter. There is one truth and it is God’s. We each will answer to Him.

Maybe, but that’s not what the pope was talking about. He’s saying that the devil is persecuting Christians regardless of their denomination. He’s right.

It may seem “nice” to believe that, but I do not think it is scriptural. In Scripture we are warned of false teachings and false teachers. As an evangelical, I prefer catholics to think I am wrong than to think the difference does not matter.
When ISIS kills Christians, do they ask what denomination they belong to? That’s the pope’s point — The pope is saying that “he” — Satan — is promoting persecution against Christians across the board. This is simply a statement of fact, there’s nothing “heretical” about it.
I think this Pope enjoys stirring the pot and alarming the world with his statements.
