“a perpetual virgin” that would be a trick after having given birth to at least six children..... read what is written.

She gave birth to only one Son, Jesus Christ.

Please re-read your Scripture and don’t believe what the Catholic haters tell you.

Then what difference is it what I believe? I said it would be this way in my reply.

It does not make a difference what either of us believes.. has no bearing on our salvation ...that was my point with let God be God ...

Just curious,...could you cite the scripture ??

Nothing to prove anything but the scriptures do show that there were at least two more women by the name of Mary,

John 19
25 Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene.

Matthew 27
56 Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Joseph and the mother of Zebedee’s sons.

Mark 15:40
40 There were also women looking on afar off: among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome;

Luke 24
10 It was Mary Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James,

The mother of James is referred to twice and the mother of James the less is also referred to.

Are they talking about the same James?

It is said that Cleophas and Alphaeus may be the same person, Alphaeus was the father of James the less and it appears the sister of Mary was the wife of Cleophas.

If Cleophas and Alphaeus are two different people which it appears to me they are there may be more James than we know.

Just my unqualified way of saying I don`t know.

Also John 19:25 is confusing to me,

Does it mean Mary`s sister the wife of Cleophas or does it mean Mary`s sister and Mary the wife of Cleophas? I have a problem with that one because I can not imagine two sisters with the same name, unless it is like the popular belief that cousins are also called brothers and sisters.

I have thought that could be what it was but it makes more sense to me that he was not an actual brother to Jesus.

I agree. It's also good that he was also known as Thaddeus. That way he was set apart from Judas Iscariot...

God bless you!

Here's a pretty good synopsis of the issue 'using scripture'...
