To: Salvation
Funny, before I read the commentary, I was thinking about how often they cast lots in the Bible. That was how Jonah got dumped off the ship and into the big, big fish that God had prepared especially for the event. Eek!

As for the twelfth apostle, I always feel bad for the fellow who didn't make it, and wonder what happened to him... but it has to be so, add they shall rule the 12 tribes according to Revelation. My guess: being the first Pope, Peter gets the Levites, the priestly people. Thomas, called Dydimus, The Twin, gets the half-tribes of Manasseh and Ephraim, Joseph's sons. John gets Benjamin for being youngest and beloved. I wonder who gets Judah, from whom Jesus descended... Maybe James, John's brother... Just a thought...
