Pope Francis sends message to Coptic Pope Tawadros II to mark 'day of friendship'

Pope Francis has told Coptic Pope Tawadros II that an “ecumenism of blood unites us”.

Francis sent a message to the Coptic patriarch on Sunday to mark the “day of friendship” between the Coptic Orthodox and Catholic churches.

“Today more than ever we are united by the ecumenism of blood, which further encourages us on the path toward peace and reconciliation. I assure you and the Christian community in Egypt and throughout the Middle East of my unceasing prayer, and I remember in particular the Coptic faithful recently martyred for their Christian faith. May the Lord welcome them into his kingdom,” he wrote.

During his morning Mass in the chapel of the Domus Sanctae Marthae on Monday, Pope Francis also discussed a telephone conversation he had with Pope Tawadros on the previous day.

“I remembered his faithful whose throats were slit on the beach (in Libya in February) because they were Christians,” the Pope said.

Just some more false ecumenism.

"Ecumenism of Blood" is a reference to martyrdom. The Churches are getting closer to reconciliation. We should pray for unity, since Christ desired that we all be one.

"I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word; that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me. "The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one;… (John 17:20-22)

"There is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all.…" (Ephesians 4:4-6)

This council firmly believes, professes, and proclaims that those not living within the Catholic Church, not only pagans, but also Jews and heretics and schismatics cannot become participants in eternal life, but will depart "into everlasting fire which was prepared for the devil and his angels" [Matt. 25:41], unless before the end of life the same have been added to the flock; and that the unity of the ecclesiastical body is so strong that only to those remaining in it are the sacraments of the Church of benefit for salvation, and do fastings, almsgiving, and other functions of piety and exercises of Christian service produce eternal reward, and that no one, whatever almsgiving he has practiced, even if he has shed blood for the name of Christ, can be saved, unless he has remained in the bosom and unity of the Catholic Church.

Non-Catholics can not be martyrs. Unity happens when others become Catholic. Martyrdom does not make one a Catholic. Francis preaches heresy.

Read Mortalium Animos. Your use of Christ’s words are mentioned in there. You use them falsely.

That is one long sentence...

That and a basket full of rosaries will get one squarely into hell...
