Pope Francis warned the rich and powerful on Tuesday that God will judge them on whether they fed the poor and cared for the Earth
"We must do what we can so that everyone has something to eat. But we must also remind the powerful of the Earth that God will call them to judgment one day," he said. "And there it will be revealed if they really tried to provide for him in every person, and if they did what they could to preserve the environment so that it could produce this food."

Your remarks are illogical and full or error.
I didn’t say anything about anybody disagreeing with the Pope. Not a single word.
What I did was create a comparison to cite your apparent ignorance of Scripture, namely the nature of the Earth as good and of God’s creation, and the command to feed the poor.
Nobody is talking about worshiping the Earth. You cast a pretty strong accusation. What is your proof for saying such a thing?
That is a broad and inaccurate accusation. What is your proof of such an accusation?
Seriously. You would think not recycling was a mortal sin now.
If a person doesn’t care for the gifts God has given us, do you think He will be to happy about that? The whole of the creation narrative in Genesis calls out how the Earth is good. Several psalms say the same thing.
Feeding the poor requires food. Food currently grows on and in Earth.
Seriously. I think you are being absurd.
Well said, Finny.
OK. Wake me up when the for sale signs are on the Vatican, the Bank of the Vatican is liquidated and the gold cashed in and the food lines commence.
>> Your remarks are illogical and full or error.
Pot, kettle, black, mr or ms militant catholic, sir. Or ma’am.
>> Nobody is talking about worshiping the Earth.
Well, actually, the Global Warmist Industry, of which Po-po is the strongest ally, are very MUCH in love with Gaia to the point of worshipping her as god; they care nothing for the Almighty Creator of the Universe, and His only Son, our Lord JESUS.
When you boil it down, po-po is carrying water by the bucket for the sort of idolaters called out by St. Paul in Romans 1.
How do you feel about that?
That is a huge and wrong assumption. A land steward who attempts to "conserve" that which nature and time are destined to change, is operating in something more than vanity. Nature is independent of man; there is zero status quo to "conserve." As the earth's "stewards," men are told to go forth and multiply, that's why they have the earth.
In my Christian bible, Jesus mad it pretty clear I have two main jobs: 1. Love God with all my heart, soul, and mind, and 2. Love my neighbor as I love myself (that's two things for me to be doing, loving myself as well as my neighbors). On these two commandments depend all the law and all the prophets. Matthew said.
What exactly "stewarding the earth" entails is kinda far removed from what I figure are my real duties to my awesome and loved Almighty.
"Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away." - Mark 13:31
"And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea." - Rev. 21:1
Sorry, I can't get worked up worrying much about a planet that God has already told us He is going to destroy and remake shortly
Since God "destroyed" the earth once already with water, and the Bible says He will do it again with fire, I don't think that you can make a case that preserving the earth is God's highest priority. Now, we are to be good stewards of what He has given us, but that is a far cry from destroying our economies and impoverishing billions in the name of "protecting the earth" as the left would like to do...
“The cite, please?”
If you need a citation to tell you whether you have free will or not, then I think you have bigger problems to worry about.
Again, you are making logical leaps and fallacious assumptions.
Where is it demonstrated the Pope is aligned with Earth worshipers? He may think there is such a thing as global warming, but it doesn’t mean he promotes socialism, Gaia, or any such foolishness.
“Care for the Garden was the first mandate given to Man in Genesis”
Which verse was that?
It is WE who do not have the authority to endanger air, water or the very earth needed by our neighbors here and now, and by future generations. God made us caretakers in Genesis, It was His first commandment, along with "Be fruitful and multiply."
>> Where is it demonstrated the Pope is aligned with Earth worshipers?
Where has Father Marx ever demonstrated anything OTHER than fawning acceptance of the Gaia worshippers and their agenda?
Where has po-po ever called them out for any of their lies and hypocrisy?
Show me just one occasion?
Really? We have a pope writing an ENCYCLICAL on the environment and global warming. We have a pope making very clear statements of judgment on those who don’t protect the environment.
As the leader of the Catholic Church, THIS is what he is focusing on? THIS is what he believes the world needs to hear?
No, I’m not being absurd at all. I’m seeing what this man is all about.
Is this what you mean, Mrs. D ?
[26] And he said: Let us make man to our image and likeness: and let him have dominion over the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the air, and the beasts, and the whole earth, and every creeping creature that moveth upon the earth. [27] And God created man to his own image: to the image of God he created him: male and female he created them. [28] And God blessed them, saying: Increase and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it, and rule over the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the air, and all living creatures that move upon the earth. [29] And God said: Behold I have given you every herb bearing seed upon the earth, and all trees that have in themselves seed of their own kind, to be your meat: [30] And to all beasts of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to all that move upon the earth, and wherein there is life, that they may have to feed upon. And it was so done.
Well, since you asked, the official charity arm of the Vatican is called Peter’s Pence. There is also Catholic Relief Services, Catholic Charities, and any number of relief organizations.
Also, there is a Papal Almoner, whose sole job is to help the poor. His name is Archbishop Konrad Krajewski.
Here are some details just about him:
Krajewski described how Francis has redefined the little-known office of papal almoner and explained the true meaning of giving. “The Holy Father told me at the beginning: ‘You can sell your desk. You don’t need it. You need to get out of the Vatican. Don’t wait for people to come ringing. You need to go out and look for the poor,’” Krajewski said. Krajewski gets his marching orders each morning: A Vatican gendarme goes from the Vatican guesthouse where Francis lives to Krajewski’s office across the Vatican gardens, bringing a bundle of letters that the pope has received from the faithful asking for help. On the top of each letter, Francis might write “You know what to do” or “Go find them” or “Go talk to them.” And so Don Corrado, as he likes to be called, hits the streets. Archbishop Krajewski has visited homes for the elderly in the name of the pope, writes checks to the needy in the name of the pope.[7]
He traveled to the island of Lampedusa in the name of the pope after a migrant boat capsized.[7] Archbishop Krajewski spent four days on Lampedusa, bringing 1,600 phone cards so the survivors could call loved ones back home in Eritrea to let them know they had made it. He also prayed with police divers as they worked to raise the dead from the sea floor.
Pope Francis wanted a more active almoner who could find innovative ways to help the poor, and told Don Corrado the position was no longer a desk job. The almoner said his biggest problem now is that Pope Francis wants to go with him on his late night charitable runs, which he does with off-duty Swiss Guards who volunteer their free time.[8]
Now, please tell me how much charity is done in the of God by your pastor and church.
And God will judge you if you are so arrogant as to think you are like unto God.
Mankind does not create or rule the universe. It is tasked to label what it finds and to make use of it. But creating abstract labels is far from creating the thing in itself.
