Thank you for posting this! I have a friend who will want to read it. God’s providence amazes me. Only a few days ago I clumsily attempted to make this same point regarding indifference to a man in my Bible study.

My friend is in his sixties and he’s a lifelong Southern Baptist and longtime deacon in his church. About two years ago God opened his eyes and he fell in love with reformed theology. He was wise enough to spend a lot of time studying before talking too much about what had happened in his life. But now he has begun the frustrating task of attempting to teach his family and close friends, including his pastor and fellow deacons, about God’s sovereignty. Those that really understand what he’s saying are angry at him for his heresy, but most are indifferent at best.

Whenever a man’s bedrock beliefs are challenged, anger is a normal human reaction, so I understand that. It’s the indifference I don’t understand. How anyone can be indifferent about TULIP escapes me. When I was confronted with sovereign grace it turned my life upside down and I’ve never been the same.
