Antonio Socci: "Dear Pope Francis, we adore God, not men"

April 28, 2015

In a message today, Pope Bergoglio said precisely the following:

“How much I would like us to kneel in veneration before the poor in church.”

Quite frankly, I’d like us to kneel before Jesus Christ, Our Saviour, particularly in front of Our Eucharistic Jesus, SEEING THAT POPE BERGOGLIO DOESN’T KNEEL AT THE CONSECRATION, AS HE SHOULD DO, AND, HE DOESN’T KNEEL AT EUCHARISTIC ADORATION EITHER!!!

I say this specifically, as I have had to deal every day with gravely ill and suffering dear ones, in whom I am aware of the presence of Our Lord. And I also say this certain that my father would think the same; he was so poor that he had to go and work in the mines at the age of 14 and died because the coal had destroyed his lungs. He, who was a Catholic miner and a militant Christian Democrat, always hated demagogy and populism, deeming them shameful mockery of the poor.

And Pope Bergoglio’s sentence is truly demagogic and populist!!! ESPECIALLY WHEN WE THINK OF HOW HE TREATED ASIA BIBI’S EXTREMELY POOR FAMILY!

Frankly, such a sentence doesn’t express charity, but ideology.

Dear Pope Bergoglio, let’s start kneeling before the Tabernacle, in front of Our Saviour, and then kneeling before those who are the image of Christ Crucified will also be believable.

Considering in the end, that the poor have no need of such gestures (which can even hide pride), but need our love, our solidarity, social justice, and, as everyone else does - they especially need Our Lord.

What's more, the poor kneel before Jesus Christ, not before their own images (in the photo, two poor farmers kneel on the muddy ground as a priest passes carrying Our Eucharistic Jesus - a lesson for certain prelates!).

Love this photograph; I’ve seen it before, but one can’t see it too many times.

That being said, I went to our adoration chapel prior to Spanish Mass on Sunday, and was very surprised (and elated) to see two young kids, maybe 11 or 12 (brother and sister) as “official” adorers of our Lord (for that hour). Sweet as can be, and extremely respectful; I’ve never seen so much genuflecting. They were not poor (or at least didn’t look as such), but they certainly voiced (through silence) hope for the future.

I love this pope’s love of the poor, but......

" ... for the poor ye always have with you, but ye shall not always have me.

This pope has serious issues, and not in a good way.

Sweetest you, mlizzy.
I agree with you about that photo.
Thank you for sharing your Sunday experience.

I am not of fan of Pope Francis.

Being poor is not a virtue! Sure, we should help people who can’t help themselves to get back on their feet. But these days it is almost as if being poor is somehow cool.

I apologize but I don't know what an "Our Eucharistic Jesus" is. Is this some sort of worship, the bowing before objects?

“POPE BERGOGLIO DOESN’T KNEEL AT THE CONSECRATION ... EUCHARISTIC ADORATION”

Does the author know he doesn’t have a knee problem? He definitely has a problem with one of his feet. He wears orthopedic supports and walks with a bit of a hesitation, a very slight limp. Is he afraid that if he kneels and gets up on his bad foot he might take a spill?

My Mom, a year and a half older than the Pope, had a knee replacement a while back. As her knee deteriorated, she couldn’t kneel at the consecration at Mass years before and many months after her knee replacement. It wasn’t a sign of bad faith or lack of faith, it was a medical situation.

The author of this piece needs to calm down (MANY CAPS), and quit being judgmental.

It was discovered that St. Bernadette had been kneeling on a knee with a tumor on it for quite a period of time. It had to be causing her excruciating pain, but she never let on. Not all are that strong.

Does the author know he doesn’t have a knee problem?

Do you know that, as Archbishop, Bergoglio knelt to be "blessed" by heretics? Or as Pope, he kneels on Holy Thursdays to wash the feet of infidels?
