What is claimed, is that the Holy Church will be protected from the faulty behavior
Burning people alive at the stake, selling indulgences and the house arrest of Galileo for heliocentricity should put this falsehood to rest for good.
Scripture indicates that James was the ‘leader’ of the band of believers in Jerusalem. Paul tells us that Peter was the Apostle to the Jews and he, Paul, was the Apostle to the gentiles.
"Tell me about the vote on that. Show me in the Bible where it states the Apostles were not equal. One had greater powers than the others."
Good questions. Let's look at Scripture about that.
As you no doubt know, Paul said it is God who makes these special appointments:
1 Cor. 12:28-29
And God has appointed in the church,
first apostles,
second prophets,
third teachers,
then miracles,
then gifts of healings,
helpers,
administrators,
various kinds of tongues.
All are not apostles, are they?
All are not prophets, are they?
All are not teachers, are they?
All are not workers of miracles, are they?
"Hoo boy! Since when was he [Peter]the leader? Tell me about the vote on that."
Let's look to Scripture for that answer, as well.
There was no vote (where is it written that the Church is to be a democracy?): it was an appointment.
Peters foundational position was taught at the very beginning of his relationship with Christ. At their first meeting, Christ told Simon that his name would thereafter be Peter, Kephas/Cephas ("Rock" )(John 1:42). It wasn't just a casual nickname, like Boanerges; he was actually called Kephas/Cephas after that point.
This constitutes a pattern. And a pattern that doesn't fit anybody but Peter.
Hoo boy! Since when was he the leader? Tell me about the vote on that. Show me in the Bible where it states the Apostles were not equal. One had greater powers than the others. Show me where it states that Peter alone was given the keys to Heaven.
They will say anything, even when it denies scripture...Scripture obviously is meaningless to them...
1Co 3:2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.
1Co 3:3 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?
1Co 3:4 For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?
1Co 3:5 Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?
Most of them admit they can't even get the milk of the words to they rely on some self appointed religious nuts who tell these people THEY THEMSELVES have mastered the milk of the word...
They call Peter their first pope and Jesus/the scriptures tell them they are carnal for believing such nonsense...Does that matter to them??? Heck no...They just keep on marching; onward thru the fog...
