Charlotte Bishop Peter Jugis has cancelled a speaking event by Sister Jennine Gramick that was scheduled to take place at one of the parishes in his diocese.
Sister Gramick is the founder of New Ways Ministry, self-described as a “gay-positive ministry that advocates for justice for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Catholics, and for reconciliation within the larger Christian and civil communities.”
In announcing Bishop Jugis’ decision to cancel the event as soon as he was made aware of it, diocese spokesman David Hains noted that the Vatican has previously determined that Gramick and New Ways Ministry oppose the Catholic Church’s teaching that homosexual acts are sinful.
We are not going to have someone who opposes Catholic teaching to be teaching in a Catholic diocese, Hains said.
Pray for Bishop Jugis, and for all those bishops who have the courage to stand up for the truth.
Catholic prayer ping!
God Bless him!
Thank you Bishop Jugis. I read a while ago that Pope Benedict had installed conservative bishops and cardinals before leaving.
He’ll need our prayers. The attacks will commence shortly.
Thank God!
Thanks be to God! Love the spine graphic! Things are getting rocky out there and we can’t stay silent. Thank God for decent, righteous leadership from a few fine bishops.
We should email him our thanksgiving.
You'd think this would go without saying.
I’ve been waiting for the Catholic-gay clash.
It will be interesting.
“Love the sinner, hate the sin” doesn’t fly with gay activists. Even acceptance is not enough. You must celebrate the gay lifestyle and agree that it is equal to any other. If you don’t so celebrate you will be attacked without mercy.
This will get better and better, pass the popcorn. I’m rooting for the Church.
Way to go Bishop Peter Jugis !
This Bishop has a spine.

As the GLBT movement continues to gain power, we can expect they will wield it against those of us who profess the traditional lifestyle. In the early years of christianity, those who stood by the faith in a pagan culture were martyred. Now, 2000 year later, we find ourselves in the same arena. We need to pray for the strength to persevere. God bless you!
Good for him.
Yes, dear brother. We are in for many perversions. God be with us. Come, Lord Jesus, come.
Good for him!
