It was God's will that He not faint on the cross, that He words on the cross would be indelibly saved, and that He complete His mission well and purchase people with His own blood flowing at that time.
Remember, the Lord's body did break down and Simon the Cyrene was compelled to carry the cross on the way to the place of the Skull. I believe He chose that break down to prophesy the destruction of Rome in 70AD warning graciously the women of Jerusalem the horrors to come and results of rejecting their King (remember the sign above the Cross - King of the Jews).
No, he did not faint on the Cross, doing the work of saving folks like you and me from ourselves, from death, eternal hell and ultimately the second death.

In the Book Killing Jesus, which was better than the movie and I am surprised the authors signed off on the screen play, brought out an interesting point. The beating Jesus received was not the cruxifixtion beating, it was a punishment beating. Pilot thought he could appease the crowd with a beating. This beating was design to permanently disable the recipient for life- walk with limp or hunched over and/or disfigured. This meant a different whip than the cruxifiction whip which was designed to rip skin and muscle on the back side to make hanging on the cross more uncomfortable, specially when trying to lift the body upward and rubbing against the cross for a breath of air.

Crucifixion kills by suffocation. It’s a very slow and agonizing way to die.
