I'll say it again, but it appears that a significant prophetic shift occurred two weeks ago with the Israeli elections, U.S. abandonment of Israel, and the Total Solar Eclipse (sun turning to darkness). Virtually every day now a huge story is breaking. Yesterday a massive 7.7 earthquake struck Papua New Guinea, generating a tsunami in the Pacific. Rush Limbaugh reports that Obama is planning to not only divide Israel, but even to abandon Israel as an ally. Another reporter is shocked by comments made by Vice President Biden inferring that Jews are not guaranteed safety in the United States. And the big story is below.

"By declaring Israeli-Palestinian peace negotiations dead and blaming Netanyahu, Obama laid the predicate for a decision to go forward with a U.S.-backed U.N. Security Council resolution that would set the terms for a final peace settlement. Envisioned as an updating of U.N. Resolution 242, which has been part of the framework for the Mideast “peace process” since the 1960s, the idea would be to mandate the solution to the questions Israelis and Palestinians have been unable to agree upon for decades, such as the future status of Jerusalem. Not incidentally, it would provide Obama with the Mideast legacy he has craved since his first day in office."

I don’t buy into predictions about when this, that, or some other Biblical event is going to occur, but I’ll grant that Revelation 18’s description of Babylon sounds very much like the US in recent years.

ps: All teasing aside, VP Biden does occasionally say things that ring true......say whatever you wish about him, he’s ‘leaked” or “exposed” several of the administration’s more nefarious secret schemes ...

The false prophets are getting lots of mileage out of this “blood moon” thing. Revelation 6:12 .....and the moon became as blood. This happens well into the Tribulation. It is not a sign of imminent arrival of Jesus. Keep reading, much happens after this event, before the return of Christ.
The UK, France, and Germany once partitioned Czechoslovakia. It can happen again.
First the 10 kingdoms were the European Common Market. Then they were the European Union. Now they're the 10 countries fighting with Saudi Arabia in Yemen. The examples could be multiplied. As quick as the news changes, so does the "correct" interpretation.
I remember clearly the days when Hal Lindsay's "Late Great Planet Earth" was all the rage. Lindsay and all of his followers were SO SURE everything would pan out just the way he said. Now when you pick up the book and read it, it's almost laughable-- even Lindsay keeps changing his predictions. It's silly and it's a racket, and it's no way to read the Bible.
Some of what you say holds water (some of the speculation being done by racketeers), but overall not. There have been a few prophecies fulfilled since the 1800’s so things are quite a bit different now. Very different now. Were men flying then? Did they have the knowledge of the world and the Word we have now? Did the population at large have telephones or the internet? Where was CNN? :-) Was Israel once again a nation then?
I, too, remember the 1980’s. More prophecy has been fulfilled even since then. We got CNN in that decade :-)
I am not talking about the sayer’s, but what the Word has to say. If you keep your nose in the Book and look up to see what is going on in the world you stay on track. If you look at what is going on in the world and try to apply it to the Word that is where stuff gets off-track.
The racketeering is silly, G-d’s Word is not.
