If necromancy is defined as the art of divining the future through alleged communication with the dead; then praying to saints - excuse me - asking dead people to influence your future is no different.

Honestly, a dictionary definition can't adequately explain the diametrically opposite difference between intercessory prayer and necromancy. The latter is frighteningly pervasive in our world, and geared toward evil, and must be avoided. .
