I would think this is forbidden by most Christian churches.

Necromancy — not to be confused with necrophilia.

No offense intended, but why wouldn’t praying to a saint like, say, Saint Francis of Assisi be necromancy?

I saw a show on CBN warning about the influence of "thelema" in the arts and media. That's the dark side, or part of it. That's not the same as when Pat Robertson comes on and asks God's help for people in need. Be careful if you Google the word, pray first. If you're Catholic, ask St. Michael to be with you. It's scary, but needs to be known and avoided- I never knew until the documentary was on what evil there was from people I saw in the media. The guy who started it is one of the people on the cover of the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper album. Famous poets, artists, statesmen, writers and others of note were tied in with him.

Be as gentle as lambs, but wise as wolves. This is not the same as asking a Saint, or an angel who stands before the throne of God, or another friend to assist by praying to God with you on your behalf. Please know the difference, and be careful of what is all around us in our culture!

God be with you!

Thank you for the post. There are some things that just need to be said. God bless you, and Mary keep you!

It is also forbidden by the Church.

Except of course, when the said apparition is Mary.
