Why even have a “Catholic” school then?
This is beyond ridiculous.
It’s worth pointing out that, within the RC clergy and ESPECIALLY within lay people who take the time and make the committment to work as DREs and catechists that there is a burning spirit of rebellion against the teachings of the Church, especially on sexual and life issues (which, at the root, are the same issue).
Yes, I know that you must rely on CCC and the documents of councils to know what the RCC REALLY teaches. But out in the field - at BC, at Notre Dame and Georgetown, in CCD, in RCIA, in many homilies, and especially for those in contact with consecrated non-cloistered religious women - well, if tha’s what you know about Catholicism, then what you know is it’s a bunch of patriarchal sexist garbage heading for the scrap heap.
Prayers for Patricia Jannuzzi, a religion teacher at Immaculata High School in the Diocese of Metuchen and also that her Bishop may change his mind.
And look at Great Britain today. Few go to any Christian church, the Anglican Church has become a dead shell of its former self, and Muslims are increasingly dominating in large areas of the country.
America beware!
