There is such a Satanic and subtle difference between "Mother of my Lord" which is scriptural and "Mother of God" which, as you say, has intrinsic meaning that is intentionally ignored yet cannot be ignored.
I have friends who hate Christianity though not me specifically. They know what is offensive and that is where they tweek me whenever it seems fun to them. Sometimes it's like being tweeked on this issue.

Blasphemous, but so are many extremes of Marian devotion.
